Dr. Christina Scharmer started with the University of Utah Athletics Department in the summer of 2022 after completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. Christina specializes in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders and has experience providing care in outpatient, intensive outpatient, residential, and inpatient treatment settings. She is specifically interested in adapting traditional eating disorder assessments and treatments to adequately address eating pathology in the context of highly active people, including elite athletes. Christina has experience in collegiate athletics as a student-athlete on the Swimming and Diving Team at Luther College and continues to spend a lot of time running in the mountains and swimming in alpine lakes.
