SALT LAKE CITY - Ranked No. 10 Southern California (8-1-1) snapped Utah's (7-4-1) six- game win-streak, 4-1 at Ute Field. Utah struck first on junior Amy Kofoed's 11 goal of the season. It came in the 24th minute from a pass by freshman Amber Brower. The Trojans then rambled off the next four goals to earn the win. USC took advantage of two penalty kicks to lead 2-1 at halftime. Isabelle Harvey and Andrea Warner converted the attempts. Jennifer Prigmore scored in the 70th minute, and USC capped the scoring with a late goal right at the end of the game. The Utes were given a red card and two yellow cards in a physical game, but seemed to lose some composure at times. Fouls were lopsided with USC getting nine more infractions, but Utah was out shot 25-7. Courtney Hills had nine saves in the net for Utah, however, the barrage on goal was too much for the goalkeeper to handle. Utah opens conference play at New Mexico Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
