Ute Gymnasts Will Meet Minnesota On Saturday

The 2000 NCAA runner-up Utes begin a torturous road stretch this Saturday when they meet No. 18 ranked Minnesota in Minneapolis. Utah, 1-0 this year and ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll, leads Minnesota 17-1 in the all-time series, but that margin is deceptive. The Gophers knocked off Utah for the first time ever last year in a quadrangular meet at Arizona State and the last three meets in Minneapolis, where Utah is 5-0 all-time, were decided by an average of less than half a point.
Live stats for the meet will be posted on Utah's web site, www.UtahUtes.com, starting at approximately 7:00 CT (at which point pre-meet lineups will be posted).
After Saturday's meet with UM, Utah will spend two more weekends on the road, facing defending NCAA champion and No. 1 ranked UCLA in Los Angeles on January 21 and No. 20 Arizona in Tucson on January 26. The Utah-UCLA meet will be televised live on KJZZ-TV.
