Medcalf Forced To Withdraw From Tonight's Lineup

SALT LAKE CITY -
Freshman Annie Medcalf, who was scheduled to compete on bars and beam in tonight's meet vs. BYU, has been scratched from the lineup after a pre-meet accident on the uneven bars. Medcalf, who peeled on a Jaeger, is believed to have suffered a mild concussion and perhaps a mild case of whiplash. She will be evaluated by a team doctor prior to the meet. Replacing Medcalf in the lineup tonight will be freshman Tacia LaBatte on the bars and freshman Veronique Leclerc on the beam. Ironically, Medcalf won her spot in the beam lineup last week at Florida when Deidra Graham sprained her knee on the bars in the pre-meet warmups. Graham is expected to compete on the bars tonight, but will not be able to do any other events.
