The University of Utah gymnastics team jumped two places to No. 3 in the national rankings after producing its second-highest score of the year in a 197.350-195.475 win over No. 14 Oregon State last Saturday.
The top 10 poll this week, based on regional qualifying score: 1. Georgia (196.975), 2. Alabama (196.950), 3. Utah (196.855), 4. UCLA (196.810), 5. Michigan (196.690), 6. Oklahoma (196.590), 7. Nebraska (196.570), 8. Stanford (196.210), 9. LSU (196.180), 10. Iowa State (196.140).
Utah's final two regular season opponents, Florida and Brigham Young, are ranked 16th and 15th, respectively. Utah hosts Florida this Saturday and has BYU at home on March 23.
Utah is still the nation's top-ranked balance beam team with a 49.330 RQS. Theresa Kulikowski (9.960) and Shannon Bowles (9.935) remained the No. 1 and No. 3 ranked beam workers. Kulikowski is also ranked third on bars (9.945) and sixth on floor (9.930). She has not competed in enough all-around competitions to qualify for the national rankings in that category.
