Despite losing two close meets this season, the Utah gymnastics team shot to No. 1 in the latest national rankings by virtue of its season scoring average, a 196.90. Utah was ranked No. 5 last week. The rankings moved from high score to average score on Monday.

Ute junior All-American Melissa Vituj is ranked No. 4 in the all-around (39.608 average), No. 2 on floor (9.958) and No. 4 on beam (9.942). Senior All-American Kim Allan is ranked No. 9 on bars (9.883).
