LAST WEEK
Three falls on the beam sent Utah reeling to its first loss since Jan. 24, 196.900-196.325 to No. 9 Oregon State in Corvallis. It was the worst score of the year for Utah, which had counted a fall in just one previous meet and had not counted two falls all year. Positives for Utah were Annabeth Eberle, Theresa Kulikowski and Kim Allan. Eberle won her second all-around of the year (39.575) and also won the vault with a career-best 9.95. Kulikowski made her injury-delayed return on the floor exercise worth the wait, winning in her first attempt with a 9.95. She also captured bars (9.95) and beam (9.95). Tying Kulikowski for beam honors was Allan, whose 9.95 was a career best. Allan also scored a 9.925 on bars.

Prior to those losses, the Utes had won 170 consecutive home dual meets, dating back to 1979 and marking the longest home court win streak in the history of NCAA sports. Utah's two home losses are its most since the program's first year (1976).

MARSDEN SAYS
"Michigan is a team that's beginning to peak. They easily disposed of a good Denver team on the road this past week, so once again, we should have our hands full. I made our schedule with the thought of seeing as many teams as possible that we would have to compete against in the postseason. Michigan is a program that is always a factor in the postseason. "In spite of our record, I'm fairly pleased with where we are at this point. Half of our team was new and inexperienced going into the season and we've faced some very good teams. We've been right there with everyone. Of course, I hope we can get a little stronger in the last half of the season, but I still believe that this team has the potential to do some great things. "The road was good in many ways. It really brought the team together, as you might expect, and there were some extreme highs and also some lows that we learned to deal with together. Obviously, we're looking forward to coming home to our fans."
