Utah Gymnasts Ranked Fifth
In the first rankings of the season based on regional qualifying score (RQS), the Utah gymnastics team slipped two places to No. 5. The RQS is reached by taking a team's six best scores, of which at least three must be road meets, dropping the high score and averaging the remaining five. Ahead of the Utes in the new rankings are UCLA, Alabama, Nebraska and Arizona State.
Individually, Melissa Vituj (39.40 RQS) and Annabeth Eberle (39.34 RQS) are ranked No. 6 and 10, respectively, in the all-around. Vituj is No. 3 on both beam (9.935) and floor exercise (9.945), Eberle is No. 5 on floor (9.925) and No. 10 on vault (9.895), and Kim Allan is tied for fourth on bars (9.905). Theresa Kulikowski has dropped out of the bar rankings because she has not competed in enough meets to qualify for an RQS.
