Head Coach Rich Manning
"We played like it was our first game a little but. We were tentative at times and we still have some roles that need to be defined on this team. I was impressed with our aggressiveness in the second half. In the first half we were aggressive, but we did not manage the game and the clock as well as we could have. Overall, like I said, it was our first game and there were still a lot of positives."
"I was happy with our goalkeepers (Kaycie Zimmerman and Ashley Mason). It was the first game for both of them and they made some nice saves. Both of Colgate's goals were shots that hit the posts and weren't saveable. Our center back Melissa Wayman also did a good job."
"Missy (Dennis) had a good game. She has soccer in her blood. She'll be 45 years old with kids and will still be playing soccer. She's the quarterback of the team and the players have confidence in her."
Senior Missy Dennis
"The win feels great, knowing I wasn't able to play in the scrimmage. We had a lot of butterflies knowing it was the first game. It's good to get the first win after having to play and adjust with all the new players."
Commenting on the assisted goal - "I went for the cross and Amber Brower was there to head it in. We did a good job working as a team out there today."
Senior Amber Brower
"It was a great game with good competition. With it being our first game, we seemed a little inexperienced, but we ended up doing really well."
Commenting on her goal - "It was good. I basically just had to stand there and put it up. As a team, we did what we needed to do to get the win."
