SALT LAKE CITY -
After starting off the season with two great meets, we were really excited to go up against our in-state rival BYU. All week in training, no one was allowed to wear blue, especially on Thursday. That was our Red day. I think that if anyone dared to wear blue Megan would have kicked them out of gym! OK, maybe not, but they would of definitely had to change.
We started off the meet with a little bit of a struggle as we counted two falls on bars, but we came back strong in the other three events even though Gritty had to pull out of the meet due to a minor injury. It's good to know that we can all pull through it and work as a team even when something unexpected happens. Don't worry though, Gritt should be back this weekend with everyone's favorite floor routine!
After the meet Greg got us all together to congratulate us on our great comeback after the rough start on bars. He said it was too bad that he was going to have to fire Aki (our bars coach). I think he was kidding.
Our fans were great! We had lots of red in the stands. Some of our boys made signs for us, while the others painted their chests spelling out U-T-A-H. This just shows that our fans are always there for us!
After the meet, we stopped at Sizzler for dinner. Then, it was a nice bus ride back to the dorms. Most everyone fell asleep on the bus, with the exception of Steph, Jacey, and me. We were rockin'out in the back seats singing along to Jacey's music. Good times, good times!!! Greg just rolls his eyes and calls us FRESHMAN.
Now we are getting ready for another awesome home meet this Friday against Minnesota at 7:00pm. It's also autograph night, so come cheer us on and get everyone's autograph after the meet.
GO UTES!
