NicolleFord and Melissa Vituj had incrediblybig vaults and totally stuck their landings.Rachel Tidd's vault flew practically outof the gym it was so big. She had alittle step on her landing, but thevault was huge. Kristen Riffanachtstarted things off with a nice vault, small step on landing. Veroniquewas good in flight but came down alittle low on her landing. I missedStephanie Lim's vault. Sorry.
BARS BARSKari Muth 9.850 Dominique D'Oliveira 9.825Cassandra Jusino 9.900 Stephanie Lim 9.775April Boone 9.725 Melissa Vituj 9.875Maggie Germaine 9.800 Veronique Leclerc 9.875Ashley Kelly 9.925 Rachel Tidd 9.925Carla DeMartini 9.875 Nicolle Ford 9.900UB: 49.350; Running: 98.200 UB: 49.400; Running: 49.400Utah bar notesDominique D'Oliveira had a nice routine witha great dismount.Stephanie Lim was held up for a long timebefore she was flagged to start. Shehad a little hitch getting up to thetop bar but the rest of her routine wasnice.Melissa Vituj had a great routine. Her handstandswere the best I've seen this year and hertriple flyaway dismount was absolutely perfect. There is something going on with the judges. There are just huge delays between each routine.Veronique Lecler had to wait forever, butit didn't faze her. She swung the bars verywell. Little lean on her dismount.Rachel Tidd deserved her career-tying scoreand then some. She handled the entire routinewell and really nailed her dismount.Nicolle Ford is playing with pain today butdidn't let it show. She has a cold, an earinfection and didn't train this week due toa bad back. She had a balance check on herlanding but otherwise looked pretty healthy!
BEAM BEAMKari Muth 9.800 Natalie Nicoloff 9.775Amber Gorgianni 9.675 Rachel Tidd 9.275Cassandra Jusino 9.800 Kristen Riffanacht 9.800Jada Cox 9.825 Gabriella Onodi 9.275Maggie Germaine 9.725 Nicolle Ford 9.850Ashley Kelly 9.975 Melissa Vituj 9.850BB: 49.125; Running: 147.325 BB: 48.550; Running: 97.950Utah beam notesNatalie Nicoloff's mount was a little shaky andI think it caused her to be a little tentative. However, she hit her series cleanly and hadjust some minor bobbles.Rachel Tidd fell on her layout andhad another fairly large break.Great job by Kristen Riffanacht onher first career beam routine. She lookedrock steady throughout.Gabriella Onodi hopped on and fell off.Too bad because the rest of her routinewas really nice.Other than a half step on her landing,Nicolle Ford turned in a beauty. Shetook out the second layout on herflight series.Melissa Vituj looked better than her scoreindicates. She dismounted right as anotherreally weird Air Force floor musicmedley switched from Dream On to SmokeOn The Water. I am not making this up.
FLOOR FLOORLauren Powell 9.900 Kristen Riffanacht 9.875Jada Cox 9.900 Veronique Leclerc 9.875April Boone 9.125 Rachel Tidd 9.925Ashley Kelly 9.975 Stephanie Lim 9.875Cassandra Jusino 9.400 Nicolle Ford 9.875Maggie Germaine 10.0 Melissa Vituj 10.0!FX: 49.175; Running: 196.500 FX: 49.550; Running: 147.500Utah floor notesRiffy had a really nice routine, althoughI thought the music seemed a little slow. She ended very strong.Competing her first floor routine of theyear, Veronique Leclerc really showedoff her new routine. It is super cute.Rachel Tidd had some real pop tonight withgreat amplitude on her tumbling. Shehad a just a tiny little hitch on her spinafter one leap. That's all.I would have scored Stephanie Lim at leasta 9.90, but probably better. I don't knowwhat mistake I didn't catch. She nailed herfull-in and all of her tumbling.Considering Nicolle Ford can barely breathewith this cold, I'm not sure how shegot through her floor routine, but shedid a nice job. She could have been a bitcleaner on her landing off her pike doubleback, but it was nothing major at all.Melissa Vituj FINALLY gets her perfectscore on floor. It was a beauty.
