The third-highest score in school history-and the highest road score ever-propelled the Utah gymnastics team up two places in the national rankings to No. 4. Utah, which beat No. 8 Washington 197.950-197.550 in Seattle on Friday, moved ahead of Alabama and Louisiana State in the new rankings. Utah's 197.340 regional qualifying score (RQS) trails third-place Stanford (197.350) by just one hundredth of a point.
Annabeth Eberle's return to the lineup from the disabled list also improved Utah's individual rankings. Eberle is ranked No. 4 in the all-around with a 39.625 RQS, and is No. 2 on vault (9.970) and tied for 21st on floor (9.915). Melissa Vituj is ranked No. 18 in the all-around (39.455), No. 9 on floor (9.940), No. 15 on beam (9.910) and No. 18 on vault (9.905). Utah's vaulters, who as a team are ranked second in the nation with a 49.490 RQS, placed four members in this week's rankings. Joining Eberle and Vituj are freshmen Rachel Tidd (tied for ninth at 9.920) and Nicolle Ford (tied for 22nd at 9.900). Tidd is also tied for 10th on bars with a 9.915 RQS. As a team, Utah is ranked No. 2 on vault (49.450 RQS) and bars (49.405), No. 5 on beam (49.255) and No. 6 on floor (49.460).
