College Gymnastics Powers Clash Tonight In Salt Lake City

The 10-time national champion Utah gymnastics team opens its season tonight against five-time NCAA champion UCLA at 7:00 p.m. in the Huntsman Center. Two-for-one coupons are available at all area RC Willey locations. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Ute ticket office at 801-581-UTIX, on the Internet at http://utahutes.collegesports.com, or at the Utah box office located in the Huntsman Center.
The meet will feature three Olympians, eight World Championship competitors, 14 senior national team members, five All-Americans, a two-time NCAA champion and a World Balance Beam champion.
It is the season opener for both No. 5 ranked Utah and No. 1 ranked UCLA. Utah upset the top-ranked Bruins in Los Angeles in last year's opener. UCLA went on to win its second NCAA title in a row and its fourth in the last five years last April. In 2003, UCLA snapped Utah's NCAA record 23-year home court win streak.
