MINNESOTA UTAHVAULT VAULTKim Womack 9.650 Kristen Riffanacht 9.775Kelly Ganchan 9.675 Jessica Duke 9.750Ashley Mutchler 9.750 Gritt Hofmann 9.750Maria Opsahl 9.700 Ashley Postell 9.800Laura Johnson 9.775 Rachel Tidd 9.850Carolyn Yernberg 9.750 Annabeth Eberle 9.850VT: 48.650; Running: 48.650 VT: 49.025; Running: 97.900Utah vault notes:Kristen Riffanacht had her best vault of the year. Nice amplitude and a great stick on the landing.Jessica Duke also had a lot of air. She had a delayed 1/2 step on her landing after appearing to stick it at first.Gritt Hofmann had a nice vault but took off and landed kind of far to the left. Her score was changed twice.Ashley Postell had a big flight, landing far back on the mat. Her body was nice and straight. She had a small step on the landing.Rachel Tidd had a lot more bounce to her on her vault than onbars and had an impressive routine with a solid stick.I thought Annabeth Eberle's vault was one of her best thisseason and the best by Utah tonight. It was extremely powerfulwithout losing anything in execution and she really stuck herlanding.
BARS BARSKim Womack 9.150 Katie Kivisto 9.750Andrea Cornelius 9.625 Dominique D'Oliveira 9.625Rehana Russell 9.650 Annabeth Eberle 9.700Maria Opsahl 9.525 Ashley Postell 9.825Stephanie Funk 9.650 Nicolle Ford 9.825Laura Johnson 9.675 Rachel Tidd 9.775UB: 48.125; Running: 96.775 UB:48.875; Running: 48.875Utah bar notes:Katie Kivisto started out with a really nice, clean, smooth looking routine. She absolutely nailed her dismount.Dominique D'Oliveira seemed to have trouble getting a goodflow. She had a little break on the top bar.Annabeth Eberle's release moves were huge and her formwas very clean. She had a step on her landing.Ashley Postell looked great on the bars--good form, straightlegs, but had a small step on her dismount.Nicolle Ford had a really nice routine with a big stick onher dismount. She will not be able to compete the other threeevents due to a bruised heel.Rachel Tidd hit her routine but looked sluggish. Shedidn't swing the way she can, although she still handledall of her handstands easily.
BEAM BEAMAmanda Miles 9.100 Kristen Riffanacht 9.775Kelly Ganchan 9.700 Katie Kivisto 9.300Ashley Mutchler 9.700 Gritt Hofmann 9.300Stephanie Funk 9.775 Rachel Tidd 9.825Laura Johnson 9.675 Annabeth Eberle 9.750Ashley Stanton 9.800 Ashley Postell 9.800BB: 48.650; Running: 145.425 BB: 48.450; Running: 195.275Utah beam notes:Kristen Riffanacht's beam routine was perhaps the best leadoffroutine of the season by a Ute. She was absolutely rock solid, her routine was packed with cool stuff. She did not step outof her dismount, but she bent a little to the side.Gritt Hofmann was sharp until that side salto (the move I dread),which sent her off the beam.Rachel Tidd had the best beam routine I've seen her do in quitesome time. It was just about as close to perfect as you can get.No bobbles, big leaps with straight legs, sweet layouts, etc.AB was feeling some pressure but she was a gamer. Her somersaultmount was low, but she stood it up. She had a step on her landing.Ashley Postell has ice running through her veins. She, like AB,wasn't quite on, but if you hadn't seen how she normally doesit, you almost wouldn't have known it. That was her best stickon the dismount yet.
FLOOR FLOORKim Womack 9.725 Katie Kivisto 9.700Ashley Mutchler 9.700 Kristen Riffanacht 9.750Ashley Stanton 9.775 Rachel Tidd 9.775Laura Johnson 9.825 Ashley Postell 9.825Maria Opsahl 9.825 Annabeth Eberle 9.850Carolyn Yernberg 9.875 Gritt Hofmann 9.725FX: 49.025; Running: 194.450 FX: 48.925; Running: 146.825Utah floor notes:Katie Kivisto, filling in for the injured Nicolle Ford, struggled a bit on her first pass, but came back with a really nice second pass.Riffy's routine was just excellent. She hit all of her big tumblingand her dance was good, her leaps high.Rachel Tidd's routine was just beautiful. It's hard to believe she hasn'tbeen able to train full routines because of her back problems.Ashley Postell drew several gasps from the crowd with this routine. Her layout back triple twist on the first pass was just incredibly high. I think she was scored down for a leap that wasn't as high as usual and shehad a small skid coming off one tumbling pass.A.B. was really on with this routine. Her tumbling and dance werejust exquisite. She, too, had people in here awed and appreciative.
