She hit it, little kink on landing, butnothing big.Sorry for the delay but vault moves so fast. The judgingon this was really, really tight. Only Gritt Hofmanneven had a hop. Nina Kim looked great and Nicolle Fordhad what I thought was an absolutely stunning vault.Kristina Baskett totally nailed her vault andlanding, as did Ashley Postell. I honestly thought thiswas a great vault set.
BARS BARSNellie Kippley 9.800 Katie Kivisto 9.850Tatjana Thuener-Rego 9.825 Nina Kim 9.875Lindsday Bruck 9.900 Jessica Duke 9.900Jenny Deiley 9.925 Ashley Postell 9.850Lauren Mirkovich 9.925 Kristina Baskett 9.875Katie Lieberman 9.850 Nicolle Ford 9.850UB: 49.425; Running: 98.075 UB: 49.350; Running: 49.350Utah bar notes:Katie Kivisto did a nice job. Her knees snapped back a littleon her landing, causing a very tiny hop.Nina Kim had a good routine after a not-so good three-minutetouch. I'm glad this was the one that counted. Hop on dismount.Jessica Duke just rocked. Beautiful handstands, powerfulroutine, stuck landing.Ashley Postell was great on the bars and upgraded herdismount pretty successfully in that she completedit and didn't fall. However, she did step out of it andlean a bit to the right.Kristina Baskett was another one who really looked smoothon the bars. No one except Jessica, though, has really suck herlanding.Nicolle Ford had a bit of a break on the high bar. She did nottotally stick her landing but looked really good onher big release moves.
BEAM BEAMCarol McNamara 9.800 Gabriella Onodi 9.850Jenny Deiley 9.825 Kristen Riffanacht 9.800Nellie Kippley 9.850 Nina Kim 9.350Tatjana Thuener-Rego 9.850 Gritt Hofmann 9.300Becca Clauson 9.750 Nicolle Ford 9.875Lindsey Bruck 9.650 Ashley Postell 9.900BB: 49.050; Running: 147.125 BB: 48.775; Running: 196.400Utah beam notes:That may be the best beam routine I've ever seen fromGabriella Onodi. She never bobbled, was really smoothwith all of her connections.Kristen Riffanacht had a little tilt coming offone move, but that was it. Again, very clean.Nina Kim fell on her mount, her first fall onthe beam this year. She finished strong but probablymissed a connection when she fell.Gritt Hofmann also fell for the first time this yearon the beam. It was on her series.Nicolle Ford and Ashley Postell had outstanding routines. Both were solid on everything and looked totallyconfident and in control.
FLOOR FLOORNellie Kippley 9.750 Kristen Riffanacht 9.775Carol McNamara 9.750 Gabriella Onodi 9.775Lindsey Bruck 9.775 Nicolle Ford 9.850Jenny Deiley 9.850 Kristina Baskett 9.850Tatjana Thuener-Rego 9.300 Ashley Postell 8.975Becca Clauson 9.850 Gritt Hofmann 9.875FX: 48.925; Running: 196.100 FX: 49.125; Running: 147.625Utah floor notes:Kristen Riffanacht got dinged for a low second pass. Therest of the routine looked pretty sharp.Gabi also had a deduction on her second pass. Shedid a nice piked double back but her knees snapped backcausing her to lean back when she landed. Now I'm not sure where the deductions came on Nicolle Ford.I thought she was right on. Not that 9.85 is a bad scorebut I didn't see much wrong.Kristina Baskett's fumbling was good but she skidded onthe mat a couple of times on dance/leaps.Ashley Postell had a big double Arabian. too big for herto stay in bounds. Then, she fell to her hands on herclosing triple twist.Gritty Hofmann's routine was just outstanding. She wasright on with her tumbling and really looked inspiredand clean. That's what I saw.Word from special guest and Detroit Ute Missy TownsendGraves on Gritty's routine: I guess I don't know gymnasticsanymore because I thought that was a 10!
