The University of Utah women's soccer team plays a pair of road games, but will get to sleep in their own beds this week.
Utah will travel down I-15 for a match with Utah Valley Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Utes will then remain in the Beehive State for a contest with Utah State in Logan Saturday at 1 p.m.
Utah is currently riding a seven-match unbeaten streak. The Utes are 6-2-2 overall.
Utah is 2-0-0 all-time against Utah Valley. This will be the first time the Utes have faced the Wolverines away from Ute Field. Utah is 8-1-0 against Utah State. The only Aggie victory in the series was during the 1997 season, a 1-0 decision in Logan.
Opening Kick
Utah may have to juggle its starting lineup and roster this week. The injury bug has bitten the Utes a bit in the past few weeks and it is starting to catch up with them. Kelly Isleib is out this week with a knee contusion. Adele Letro is day-to-day and may miss Wednesday's game with a strained quad. Jen Christoffers also has a strained quad. Erin Dalley is day-to-day with a sprained MCL. Nicole Cardon is also day-to-day with a thigh bruise.
Adele's Adept
Utah junior Adele Letro (Davis, Calif.) scored both goals in a 2-2 tie at Pepperdine and the game-winner vs. Boise State. She has now scored 12 times in 10 games. Letro ranks No. 1 in the MWC and No. 3 in NCAA Division I in goals per game (1.2).
Letro also had an assist Sunday, giving her 27 points for an average of 2.7 points per game, which ranks No. 1 in the MWC and No. 2 in the nation.
Letro has scored in nearly one-half (24-of 52) of her collegiate games. She now has seven career multi-goal games and 16 career game-winning goals.
Isleib = Assist
Utah sophomore Kelly Isleib (Park City, Utah) is the national leader in assists per game. The Ute midfielder is tied with Portland's Michelle Enyeart for the top spot in Division I with 1.0 per contest.
Isleib has recorded assists in seven of Utah's 10 games this season. She has dished out two assists in three contests.
Isleib's average will most likely remain at 1.0 per game through this week. She's not expected to play this week while recovering from a minor knee injury.
