FINAL SCORE
1.
USU UTAHVAULT VAULT Meagan Lewis 9.725 Jessica Duke 9.775 Heather Heinrich 9.700 Annie DiLuzio 9.800 Devin Markle 9.750 Sarah Shire 9.775 Jessica Parenti-Otte 9.775 Nina Kim 9.750 Katy Schilla 9.850 Nicolle Ford 9.825 Katie Omann 9.775 Kristina Baskett 9.950 VT: 48.875; Running: 48.875 VT: 49.125; Running: 98.675 Utah vault notes: According to SL Tribune reporter, Jessica Duke's vault was "good, but not spectacular." The rest of us didn't know she had started. Annie DiLuzio had another high flyer and a little hop on the landing. Sarah Shire had her first non-stick (step and a half). Nina Kim might have been a little low, and story of the night, she stepped out of her landing. Nicolle Ford balked on her first vault and had a hitch in her run on the second, before pulling through with a nice vault. Oddly, in a meet that is being scored very generously, I thought hers was low in comparison with the others. Kristina was dead on in everything. Big height, flight, stick. Well deserving of a 9.95 for sure.
BARS BARS Heather Henrich 9.725 Jamie Deetscreek 9.775 Devin Markle 9.700 Nina Kim 9.925 Nicki Felley 9.700 Daria Bijak 9.875 Ashley Barr 9.825 Jessica Duke 9.875 Meagan Lewis 9.825 Kristina Baskett 9.950 Katie Omann 9.550 Nicolle Ford 9.925 UB:48.775; Running: 97.650 UB: 49.550; Running: 49.550 Utah bar notes: Jamie Deetscreek had a great start and finish to her routine. She did have a pretty significant pause on the low bar before heading down the stretch run, but overall a great first routine to count. Nina Kim had a nice big release move, straight handstands, nice swings and a stuck dismount. By the way, Ashley Postell is not injured or sick. She and Greg decided she would take a break this meet and let some others compete. Daria Bijak's routine was solid throughout until her landing, when she took a step to her left. Jessica Duke had nothing deductable except a step on the landing, but she didn't move through the routine as quickly as she usually does. Kristina Baskett was on the top of her game, crisp, big releases, straight handstands, big stick on the landing. Nicolle Ford was similar to Jessie, although she stuck her dismount, in that she moved a little slower than usual and had a slight pause on the low bar when she was preparing to go to the high bar for the last part.
BEAM BEAM Devin Markle 9.625 Jamie Deetscreek 9.750 Katy Schilla 9.175 Annie DiLuzio 9.575 Nicki Felley 9.025 Kristina Baskett 9.875 Heath Heinrich 9.450 Sarah Shire 9.250 Meagan Lewis 9.650 Nina Kim 9.725 Jessica Parenti-Otte 9.800 Nicolle Ford 9.925 BB: 47.700 Running: 145.350 BB: 48.850; Running: 196.575 Utah beam notes: Nice debut for Jamie Deetscreek on beam. In the middle of it, she had a pretty big balance check, but seemed really calm in staying on (didn't flail at all). Annie DiLuzio was just determined to stay on the beam and she did, but she had three rough spots. Good move reinserting Kristina Baskett to the beam lineup after Bijak's falls on floor. All I saw was her second toe twitch. I am wondering what else there was. Sarah Shire had a rare fall in an otherwise nice routine. Nina Kim made it all the way to the end before making a mistake -- and that was a controlled step back on her dismount. Really nice job up on the beam. The scoring got a lot tighter in the second half of the meet or Queenie might have dished out a 10.0 on that one. Her 9.925 was definitely deserved.
FLOOR FLOOR Katy Schilla 9.750 Jessica Duke 9.400 Devin Markle 9.700 Beth Rizzo 9.875 Meagan Lewis 9.825 Daria Bijak 8.650 Jessica Parenti-Otte 9.775 Annie DiLuzio 9.900 Nicki Felley 9.825 Nicolle Ford 9.950 Megan Tschida 9.800 Kristina Baskett 9.925 FX: 48.975; Running: 194.325 FX: 49.050; Running: 147.725 Utah floor notes: Jessie Duke had a nice routine going until she fell on her final tumbling series. Beth Rizzo followed up a huge newspaper article in the SL Trib this a.m. with her best routine to count yet. Lots of good tumbling. Daria Bijak fell on her first pass. It was some cool ting, but I don't know what it was called. Then, she fell again on another cool tumbling pass. Annie DiLuzio powered up on this one. Big tumbling. Just one foot skitter (didn't move the pivot foot, so it didn't really even matter). Nicolle Ford got a rousing cheer from a big fan club in the stands and then just lit the place up. Stuck everything cold, starting with her big opening double layout. I would have scored this one an 11! Kristina Baskett followed Queenie nicely. Very precise, great leaps, solid tumbling.
