WASHINGTON UTAHVAULT VAULTKristen Linton 9.525 Daria Bijak 9.775Karen Cain 9.750 Beth Rizzo 9.725Nikki Waiss 9.850 Annie DiLuzio 9.725Emily Epstein 9.675 Kyndal Robarts 9.875Kristen Omori 9.800 Kristina Baskett 9.925Haley Bogart 9.850 Ashley Postell 9.975VT: 48.925; Running: 48.925 VT: 49.275; Running: 98.500Utah vault notes:Daria Bijak was a little close to the horse. Her vaultgot a big gasp from the student section behind me.I thought Beth Rizzo had a really nice vault. I musthave missed something from my angle.Annie's vault had plenty of air and amplitude. Shehad a step on her landing, but it was a big vault.I'm just not sure about the cause of the low scores.OK, here's the story. Kyndal just hit a huge vaultand one judge started her at a 9.90 start value. Wemay have flashed the wrong vault category. The scorewent up on appeal, but boy were we judged tight onthis event.Kristina Baskett had a beautiful, big, clean vault.Nice stick on the way down.Ashley Postell's vault was flat out perfect. Samejudge that has been lowballing the whole routinegave her a 9.95. The other put up a well-deserved 10.0
BARS BARSKaren Cain 9.650 Katie Kivisto 9.800Haley Bogart 9.725 Gael Mackie 9.775Nikki Weiss 9.725 Jessica Duke 9.825Raimey Iselin 9.750 Daria Bijak 9.850Samantha Walior 9.825 Kristina Baskett 9.900Kristen Linton 9.200 Ashley Postell 9.850UB: 48.675; Running: 97.600 UB: 49.225; Running: 49.225Utah bar notes:I think that's as good a swing as I've seen Katiehave this season. Nice stick on the landing.Gael Mackie had a pretty nice first college routine.Deductions were for a step on her landing andsome handstands that weren't totally straight up.Jessica Duke's routine was clean and concise. She had a sort of awkward looking landing, butdidn't step.Daria Bijak moved really well between the bars.Nothing major wrong with that one.Agian, I'm not sure what Kristina Baskett isgetting docked for. Her handstands were great, she flew through her release moves. I don't knowwhere the 10th off came from.Ashley Postell's routine was great except fortwo things: She leaned backwards on one handstand--but of course, kept her form and straightened itback up, and she had a small step on her dismount.
BEAM BEAMSamantha Walior 9.800 Jamie Deetscreek 9.325Karen Cain 9.675 Annie DiLuzio 9.775Kelly Gilbert 9.750 Kyndal Robarts 9.775Haley Bogart 9.850 Kristina Baskett 9.825Kristen Linton 9.650 Daria Bijak 9.825Kristen Omori 9.350 Ashley Postell 9.850BB: 48.675; Running: 146.325 BB: 49.050; Running:197.100Utah beam notes:Jamie Deetscreek fell on her first series. She wasa replacement for Nina Kim, who aggravated herfoot sprain during warmups.Annie DiLuzio had a mostly clean routine. Goodleaps and connections. A couple of very smallbalance checks and a hop on the landing.Kyndal Robarts must be living right. For the thirdstraight week, she saved a potential fall. The restof her routine, including the landing, was flawless.I liked Kristina Baskett's routine better than thescore but that might be because Lya and I agreedshe held her position long enough on landing, butI'm guessing the judges counted it as a step.Daria Bijak had a great routine. Really clean, bignice leaps, etc.Ashley Postell had some uncharacteristic shakinessearly inat eh routine but finished really strong.
FLOOR FLOORKaren Cain 9.700 Daria Bijak 9.875Kristen Linton 9.600 Kyndal Robarts 9.900Raimey Iselin 9.400 Beth Rizzo 9.900Haley Bogart 9.800 Annie DiLuzio 9.925Samantha Walior 9.850 Kristina Baskett 9.775Kristen Omori 8.900 Ashley Postell 9.950FX: 49.050; Running: 197.10 FX: 49.550; Running: 148.050Utah floor notes:Daria Bijak would get a 15 if she were later in thelineup. That is the coolest routine. She nailed hertuck double front, tuck front to start it offand just kept rolling. don't pay attentionto the score on this one. It was awesome.Kyndal Robarts also put on a nice tumblingdisplay. Her tuck Arabian double front on the firstpass was phenomenal.A well-deserved career high for Beth Rizzo. Nothingan untrained eye could see wrong with it.Too bad Kristina Baskett went out of bounds afterdoing a beautiful pike double back at the end ofa great routine. She put in that element this meet.Ashley's routine was so good that Lya and I werehoping she would end it with a triple twist. Sheeither ran out of air or room, but her last passwas plenty good enough for the big score shegot (and deserved).
