UCLA UTAHVAULT VAULTAriana Berlin 9.825 Gael Mackie 9.725Jordan Schwikert 9.875 Jessica Duke 9.800Natalie Padilla 9.775 Daria Bijak 9.900Anna Li 9.800 Annie DiLuzio 9.825Brittani McCullough 9.875 Kristina Baskett 9.925Tasha Schwikert 9.900 Ashley Postell 9.950VT: 49.275; Running: 49.275 VT: 49.400; Running: 98.600Utah vault notes:Gael Mackie had a nice first collegiate vault. Themain problem I saw was she took off on the edge ofthe board and landed her vault on the side. She also had a step.Jessica Duke's flight was really good. She hada step back on the landing.Daria Bijak through a beautiful vault. The crowdgasped and the Utah fans were calling for a 10.0(so was I)Kristina Baskett had another beauty. I thoughtshe maybe held her landing long enough, butI'm guessing the judges charged her with a step.Ashley Postell's vault would have gone for a 10.0if she hadn't had to do the smallest of balancechecks with her hands. She stuck the landing.
BARS BARSAriana Berlin 9.825 Jamie Deetscreek 9.825Shavahn Church 9.850 Gael Mackie 9.800Jordan Schwikert 9.850 Jessica Duke 9.750Kristina Comforte 9.825 Daria Bijak 9.750Tasha Schwikert 9.900 Kristina Baskett 9.925Anna Li 9.575 Ashley Postell 9.900UB: 49.250; Running: 98.525 UB: 49.200; Running: 49.200Utah bar notes:Jamie Deetscreek's routine looked very solid from my angle, which does not allow me to see how good the handstandsare, but the routine was clean and she stuck the landing.Gael Mackie's routine was really, really nice. she swungreally well and has big release moves.Daria Bijak had to go to plan B when she wentover on a handstand. Then, she got caught upin the mat she had on top of the normal mat, which messed up her landing.Kristina Baskett and Ashley Postell both swung reallywell and looked clean and crisp. The difference wasthat Kristina stuck her landing and Ashley had alittle step.
BEAM BEAMAriana Berlin 9.800 Jamie Deetscreek 9.850Marci Bernholz 9.275 Annie DiLuzio 9.825Jordan Schwikert 9.775 Kristina Baskett 9.875Brittani McCullough 9.700 Nina Kim 9.775Tasha Schwikert 9.800 Daria Bijak 9.825Anna Li 9.350 Ashley Postell 9.925BB: 48.425; Running: 146.950 BB:49.300; Running: 197.450Utah beam notes:Jamie Deetscreek hit her series and all of hertumbling elements on beam. I'm guessing she wascounted down on one leap at the end of a combination.Annie DiLuzio had a great routine. I thought it mightget a 9.90. I was surprised at the 9.825.You don't like to complain about a 9.875, but onceagain, I thought Kristina Baskett was hit hardfor deductions I didn't see. That was a reallysolid routine.I don't know why Nina Kim got a 9.75 by one judge. She wasn't quite as crisp as she was pre footinjury (Nina hasn't trained for two weeks), butall I saw was a very minor balance check anda so close, but not quite stick on her landing.Good set by Daria Bijak. Not totally sharp, but nothing big.Another great routine by Ashley. What can yousay about her? She's amazing..
FLOOR FLOORAriana Berlin 9.825 Katie Kivisto 9.775Ashley Jenkins 9.400 Daria Bijak 9.900Jordan Schwikert 9.875 Beth Rizzo 9.850Mizuki Sato 9.825 Annie DiLuzio 9.925Anna Li inj on first pass Kristina Baskett 9.925Tasha Schwikert 9.950 Ashley Postell 9.950FX: 48.750; Running: 195.825 FX: 49.550; Running: 146.950Utah floor notes:Katie Kivisto's routine was clean, no big problems.Daria Bijak had an amazing routine. She just nailed herstuff and her routine is just spectacular.Annie DiLuzio impressed with a big triple twist tostart and lots of big, high tumbling and leaps.Kristina Baskett had an almost perfect routine. Herdeduction came on the final landing when she had a littleskid with one foot. It was small enough that I'm notsure that everyone even saw it.Ashley Postell just threw a gigantic triple twist. Shewas so high it seemed to take her forever to come down. She also had the most perfect second pass I've seen herdo.
