BYU UTAHVAULT VAULTDanielle Goldman 9.525 Daria Bijak 9.825Heidi Rasmussen 9.625 Annie DiLuzio 9.800Kiki Berrett 9.650 Nina Kim 9.825Hayley Jensen 9.700 Kyndal Robarts 9.900Alethea Boon 9.850 Kristina Baskett 9.850Dayna Smart-Allen 9.875 Ashley Postell 9.925VT: 48.700; Running: 48.700 VT: 49.325; Running: 98.575Utah vault notes:I love Daria Bijak's vault. this was another good one.She came close, but couln't quite contain the landingcompletely.Annie DiLuzio threw a great big vault with perfectlystraight everything. She took a step on the landing, but that's all I saw. I liked that for a higher score.Nina Kim had plenty of juice going over the horse, but again, had trouble sticking the landing. That was just an incredible vault by KyndalRobarts. She had huge distance -- landing atthe back end of the mat -- and great height. No deductions I could see. Great stick.Ishouldn't complain.I missed Kristina Baskett's vault because ofconfusion at the table. The headsets are down andwe aren't getting official scores. My view wasblocked by head set-fixers.Ashley Postell came close but couldn't quitenail her landing or I htink she would havegotten another 10.0. This vault was amazing. Her form is perfect and she gets way out there.
BARS BARSMcKell Poulson 9.750 Jamie Deetscreek 9.825Madeleine Johnson 9.700 Katie Kivisto 9.825Melissa Hough 9.775 Nina Kim 9.800Melissa Hough 9.625 Jessica Duke 9.775Kylee Draper-Marvin 9.800 Daria Bijak 9.900Alethea Boon scratch Kristina Baskett 9.900UB: 48.650; Running: 97.350 UB: 49.250; Running: 49.250Utah bar notes:Jamie Deetscreek did a nice routine withno big mistakes. She was a little short on herhandstands and had a little foot cross on her landing. That's as smoothly as I've seen Katie Kivistoswing the bars this year. Good energy, nice handstands, step on landing.Nina Kim has great lines and would have scoredhigher except she got a little sloppy onone move on the high bar and had a hopon her landing.Jessica Duke had really nice energy andswung well until the very end when sheused a little effort to get back intoa handstand. Her dismount was pretty closeto the bar as well. That was a great routine by Daria Bijak. Her release moves were big and clean, handstands solid, dismount stuck. Bigdiscrepency in the judges, but the scoreis what I would have given it -- a 9.90.For the second straight week, I couldn'tsee a deduction in Kristina Baskett'sroutine. Both judges gave a 9.90.
BEAM BEAMMadeleine Johnson 9.275 Jamie Deetscreek 9.275Kaylee Gallup 9.425 Kyndal Robarts 9.675Alethea Boon 9.200 Kristina Baskett 9.725Hayley Jensen 9.750 Daria Bijak 9.825Kylee Draper-Marvin 9.625 Nina Kim 9.900Dayna Smart-Allen 9.800 Ashley Postell 9.925BB: 47.875; Running: 145.225 BB: 49.050; Running: 196.700Utah beam notes:I almost saw Jamie Deetscreek fall coming when itlooked like she forgot or skipped part of her routine.Kyndal Robarts defied physics for the second straightweek -- somehow staying on the beam. The rest of herroutine was really nice.Kristina Baskett's routine looked impressive, butI'm pretty sure she missed a leap combination. Thejudge's score card that I can see gave her a 9.90start value so clearly something was missing.Too bad my scoring doesn't count because I justlove Daria Bijak's gymnastics. Her beam routinewas extremely impressive. She had the smallest offootwork issues and the biggest leaps, flips andturns.Nina Kim's routine brought back memories ofTheresa Kulikowski. Her routine just flowed andher lines, as I said previously, are beautiful.I hate missing any all-arounds by Ashley Postell, but that beam routine was worth the wait. She isincredible.
FLOOR FLOORDanielle Goldman 9.675 Daria Bijak 9.825Alethea Boon 9.625 Katie Kivisto 9.800Kiki Berrett 9.750 Nina Kim 9.800Heidi Rasmussen 9.700 Beth Rizzo 9.825Kylee Draper-Marvin 9.750 Annie DiLuzio 9.825Hayley Jensen 9.825 Kristina Baskett 9.625FX: 48.700; Running: 193.925 FX: 49.075; Running: 147.650Utah floor notes:Daria Bijak's incredible tumbling was justcrazy good tonight. She contained her power, didn't go out of bounds, didn't take a stepon a landing. That should have been a monsterscore.Nice routine by Katie Kivisto. She skidded a bitout of her third tumbling pass, but didn'tstep out of it.It is so nice having Nina Kim back in the floorlineup. She has a very intersting routine anddid it verywell, other than a little problemat the tail end of her first pass when shehad to lean back some.Beth Rizzo showed her All-America form on thatroutine. Nice, big tumbling passes, nice leaps. Ihave no clue how one judge saw this as a9.75. The 9.90 of the other was much morereflective of that routine.Annie DiLuzio made an impressive return to thefloor lineup after taking two weeks off dueto a forming stress fracture in her leg. Itmust be healing and she certainly had hertrademark power.Kristina Baskett had a bit too much poweron her first pass. YOu couldtell mid-air that her nice, high double pikewas not going to make it inside the lines.
