That wasthe big dedution on an otherwise impressive vault.Too bad Daria Bijak had a small hop on her landingbecause what a vault. She got the oohs andaahs from the crowd yet again.Beautiful vault by Kyndal Robarts. Toughscoring. Our vaults arealmost off the mat they are so big. That might have been Annie DiLuzio's bestvault this year.Kristina Baskett's vault was really clean, but probablydidn't hold up as well in the scoring becauseshe didn't have the height or amplitude of theprevious four. Those vaults were just huge.Ashley Postell could have gotten a 10.0 on thatvault, although a 9.95 is plenty good. She wasway up, perfect form, stuck the landing cold.
BARS BARSLindsey Bruck 9.825 Nina Kim 9.850Sarah Curtis 9.850 Jessica Duke 9.825Jordan Sexton 9.400 Daria Bijak 9.900Tatjana Thuener-Rego 9.875 Gael Mackie 9.775Becky Bernard 9.925 Kristina Baskett 9.925Kylee Botterman 9.775 Ashley Postell 9.900UB: 49.325; Running: 98.525 UB: 49.400; Running: 49.400Utah bar notes:It was hard to tell Nina Kim has been out of the barlineup for five weeks after that foot injury. Reallynice, clean routine. She got a 9.90 from one judge.Jessica Duke had a great routine, big swings, good execution. She had a hop on her landing.Daria Bijak had a big time routine. The only thingI saw, and I don't think it's a big deduction, was she bent back a little on a handstandafter standing it up straight. Really nice, bigroutine.Gael Mackie was great on the bars, performingbig difficulty well. She seemed to get gassedat the very end and had a large step on herdismount.Kristina Baskett's routine was really pretty andsmooth. All of her handstands, release moves, etc.were right on. She nailed her landing.Ashley Postell returned to form on this routine. After some issues the last two meets, she lookedreally confident and smooth today. One judgegave her a 9.95 and the other a 9.85.
BEAM BEAMMegan Moore 9.850 Jamie Deetscreek 9.775Sarah Curtis 9.675 Annie DiLuzio 9.800Kelsey Knutson 9.825 Kristina Baskett 9.825Becky Bernard 9.900 Nina Kim 9.825Lindsey Bruck 9.350 Daria Bijak 9.925Jordan Sexton 9.350 Ashley Postell 9.950BB: 48.600; Running: 147.125 BB: 49.325; Running: 197.425Utah beam notes:Jamie Deetscreek had a little issue on basically a gimmemove early in the routine and I was afraid it wouldthrou her off. She did have a big balance check afterher series, but stayed on and got stronger as theroutine progressed.Annie DiLuzio had a monster beam routine going untilher dismount when she took a step. I bet she'd havescored a 9.95 without the step.Kristina Baskett just flowed through her routine. The only little break didn't interfere with it.She landed one pass and one foot failed to landon the beam. But it didn't interupt her progressand Ithought it was remarkable.Nina Kim also had a fabulous routine going untila funny looking break, from which she recoverednicely to finish strong. And yet some more fancy footwork from Daria Bijak. She did a nice job catching her punch front withboth feet and just tore it up other than thatlittle miscue.Ashley Postell was methodical in showing the beamwho is the boss. She had a big fan club after thatroutine.
FLOOR FLOORNellie Kipley 9.825 Beth Rizzo 9.825Sarah Curtis 9.875 Nina Kim 9.825Lindsey Bruck 9.850 Daria Bijak 9.825Katie Lieberman 9.875 Kyndal Robarts 9.850Kylee Botterman 9.775 Annie DiLuzio 9.875 Ashley Postell 9.900FX: 49.200; Running: 196.325 FX: 49.275; Running: 148.100Utah floor notes:Beth Rizzo put on a nice show for her bigfan club. She can clean up her landings abit.Nina Kim came in as last minute replacementfor Kristina Baskett. I'm guessing Kris's feet arehurting, but that's just a guess. Nina againdid a nice routine on an event she hasn't donefor six weeks.Daria Bijak had plenty of pop but had a few errorsin that routine. She cowboyed her tuck double frontand kind of skittered on the mat at the end of herroutine. Still, her routine was impressive simplyfor what she does and how she does it.Kyndal Robarts had a great routine, worthy of the9.90 that one judge gave her. She just dropped fromthe sky on her double Arabian, ended with a perfectlylanded piked double back and was clean in herdance and other tumbling.Annie DiLuzio's routine was solid but I thoughtshe had trouble building up steam on her tumblingpasses. She completed them, but that's what itlooked like. There was only one thing that wasn't perfect onAshley Postell's 9.90 routine. She had a step tothe side when landing her gigantic double Arabian.
