The No. 2-ranked Utah gymnastics team (9-0) returns from a rare break in action this Friday, Mar. 7 and hosts No. 7 Oregon State (9-2). The meet starts at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center. A number of promotions are planned, including a

TV TALK
Friday's meet against OSU will be televised tape delayed locally, regionally and nationally (all times listed are Mountain). KTVX ABC-4 will broadcast the meet on Sunday, Mar. 9 at 11 a.m. The Mtn.'s air dates are Mar. 11 at 11:30 p.m. and Mar. 14 at 9 p.m. CSTV has four rebroadcasts scheduled: Mar. 12 at 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and Mar. 13 at 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Senior All-American Ashley Postell is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the all-around (39.620 RQS) and the balance beam (9.915). She is currently tied for No. 2 on vault (9.940) and floor (9.920), and No. 9 on bars (9.88) ... A Ute has won or shared in 37 of the 40 event and all-around titles awarded so far this season, including every beam, floor and all-around competition ...Utah has had just four falls in 192 total routines this season and has yet to count a fall in a meet ... Utah has used a different floor lineup in every meet ... Ute wins over ranked teams have come against then-ranked No. 1 Georgia, No. 9 UCLA, No. 11 Nebraska and No. 20 Arizona State ... Ahead for Utah in the next three weeks are three top 10 teams: No. 7 Oregon State, No. 3 Florida and No. 4 Michigan - the latter two on the road ... FOE FACT
Utah and Oregon State have met four common opponents. Utah is 4-0 against UCLA, Arizona State, Washington and Brigham Young, while OSU is 4-2 against them (the Beavers lost to UCLA twice and beat ASU twice).
UTE NOTES
Ashley Postell has won all eight balance beam competitions this season. Dating back to her NCAA balance beam title last April, Postell has won nine straight beam competitions. She has also won all seven all-arounds she's been in this year (she did not compete all-around against Brigham Young) and has a string of eight all-around wins going back to the 2007 NCAA Super Six... 10 of the 12 Utes who have competed to count this season are without a fall: Postell (30-30), Kristina Baskett (30-30), Daria Bijak (29-29), Annie DiLuzio (18-18),
Kyndal Robarts (14-14), Jessica Duke (11-11), Katie Kivisto (10-10), Beth Rizzo (9-9), Stephanie Neff (4-4) and
Gael Mackie (4-4) ... All-arounder Nina Kim should return to the starting lineup in some capacity this week after two weeks off (other than a beam routine at UCLA on Feb. 24) with a sprained foot ... Listed as day-to-day is three-event star
Kyndal Robarts (knee). Robarts, a 9.90 scorer on vault and floor, missed the UCLA meet ... Questionable with an Achilles injury that has cost her four meets to date is Neff (Achilles) ... Freshman Jacq Johnson (broken metatarsal) is the only Ute who has not scored this season. ... Ute event and/or all-around winners: Postell (29), Baskett (7), Bijak (4), DiLuzio (2), Kim (1), Neff (1) and Rizzo (1). Postell now has 102 career wins, the second most in school history behind Theresa Kulikowski (112 from 1999-2003). She already owns the school record for most career all-around titles (26). NATIONAL RANKINGS
Despite taking a break from competition last week, Utah stayed put at No. 2 in the national rankings, which are based on regional qualifying score. Utah has been ranked No. 2 behind Georgia for the past five weeks. The top five remains unchanged from a week ago, with Georgia (197.215 RQS) followed by Utah (197.030), Florida (196.915), Michigan (196.640) and L.S.U. (196.495). The complete top 25 can be found on page 3. Utah is ranked No. 2 on the beam (49.205 RQS), No. 3 on both vault (49.340) and floor (49.305), and No. 4 on bars (49.240).
UTES IN THE RANKINGS
Defending NCAA balance beam champion Ashley Postell is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the all-around (39.620 RQS) and the balance beam (9.915). She is currently tied for No. 2 on vault (9.940) and floor (9.920), and No. 9 on bars (9.88). Kristina Baskett, the 2006 NCAA uneven bar champion, is tied for seventh in the all-around (39.375), third on bars (9.910), and ninth on vault (9.90).
SERIES SHORTS
Utah leads the all-time series with Oregon State 52-6 (27-0 in Salt Lake City). The Utes have won the last five competitions, including last year's 196.675-196.600 victory in Corvallis. Oregon State's last win was on Feb. 21, 2003 in Corvallis.
