USU UTAHVAULT VAULTRebecca Holliday 9.550 Gael Mackie 9.775Nicole Simoneau 9.475 Stephanie McAllister 9.750Nicki Felley 8.975 Kyndal Robarts 9.875Lyndsie Boone 9.650 Jamie Deetscreek 9.825Heather Heinrich 9.725 Annie LiLuzio 9.875Jackie Dillon 9.800 Kristina Baskett 9.950VT: 48.200; Running: 48.200 VT: 49.300; Running: 98.675Utah vault notes:Gael Mackie's vault was plenty big but she couldn'tcontrol her power on the landing--taking a steo.My crack spoters, Linda Hamilton and Lya Wodraska, and I aren't sure what specifically was wrong with StephanieMcAllister's vault, so I'm going out on a limb andsay she didn't have as much air and distanceas Gael Mackie did before her.Kyndal Robarts' first vault to count was really nice. She seems really quiet and light off the horse, but she really soars.Greg was blocking my view, but I think Jamie leanedback into a step on her landing. The rest of the vaultwas niceAnnie DiLuzio's vault was huge, lots of air andpower. She took a hop on her landing.I couldn't see a deduction on Kris' vault (sheworked hard to hold her landing long enough) andthe judges felt the same way.
BARS BARSLyndsie Boone 9.650 Stephanie McAllister 9.550Nicki Felley 9.700 Nina Kim 9.750Heather Heinrich 9.725 Jamie Deetscreek 9.925Brandie Dickson 9.775 Gael Mackie 9.875Jackie Dillon 9.750 Daria Bijak 9.875Nicole Simoneau 9.875 Kristina Baskett 9.950UB: 48.825; Running: 97.025 UB: 49.375; Running: 49.375Utah bar notes:Stephanie McAllister came to a complete stopin her routine and her arms sort of collapsed. She re-did the move and kept going.Lya was the only one here who could seeNina Kim's landing and she said she tooka big step. The rest of the routinelooked clean.Jamie Deetscreek routine was a beauty and I'm gladto see she got scored for it. Every move lookedgood and she stuck her landing. That very well might have been the best bar routine I'veseen Gael Mackie do. Well, maybe last week's was as good.Big, clean gymnastics, stuck dismount.I thought Daria Bijak's routine would go for at leasta 9.925, if not a 9.95. I didn't see any issues withthar routine.Kristina Baskett had a gorgeous routine. You won'tsee straighter handstands than she had on that routineand she just flowed from move to move. Her dismount, likeJamie's, Gael's and Daria was all stick.
BEAM BEAMHeather Heinrich 9.075 Kyndal Robarts 9.825Nicki Felley 9.625 Gael Mackie 9.675Lyndsie Boone 9.050 Jamie Deetscreek 9.875Haley Hogan 9.350 Daria Bijak 9.850Rebecca Holliday 9.775 Kristina Baskett 9.900Nicole Simoneau 9.725 Nina Kim 9.900BB: 47.550; Running: 144.575 BB: 49.350; Running: 196.950Utah beam notes:Kyndal Robarts' main deduction was that she was the firstgymnast up. She had a really nice, smooth routine. Herlegs were slighly split on the dismount, but she stuckit and I'm splitting hairs. We're guessing that Gael Mackie must have missed aconnection. She had two significant breaks, as well, but she did some really cool stuff.Jamie Deetscreek is just on tonight. Her beam routine wasreally nice all the way through, start to finish. She hadone tiny footwork thing early.I thought Daria Bijak's routine was going to come closeto a 10.0 score. It was amazing. No one leaps, jumps orsomersaults like Daria. She was way up, her form wasgreat and she stuck her landing. That was a great routine.OK, I know if Kristina Baskett had not hopped on her landingshe would have scored a 10.0. That routine was Ashley-Postellwas perfect until a small hop at the end.Nina Kim also had a great routine. Lya said she had a littlewobble in the middle. I didn't see it and one judge gave hera 9.95.
FLOOR FLOORLyndsie Boone 9.675 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.775Haley Hogan 9.600 Gael Mackie 9.800Jackie Dillon 9.825 Jamie Deetscreek 9.875Erica Huelsmann 9.825 Nina Kim 9.600Heather Heinrich 9.825 Kyndal Robarts 8.950Nicki Felley 9.750 Kristina Baskett 9.875FX: 48.925; Running: 193.500 FX: 48.925; Running: 147.600Utah floor notes:Jac Johnson did a nice job on her first careerroutine to count. Her biggest deduction came at theend of her lasat tumbling pass when her front foot(non landing foot) seemed to slip a little and kindof skittered.Gael Mackie's routine was really high on coolfactor. I loved that routine. I'd say her biggestflaw was on her firs pass when she took a bigstep out of her double pike. The rsst of theroutine looked really good.Nina Kim was a late replacement for StephanieMcAllister, and while she had warmed up OK, Ifelt as though she was limping during the three-minute touch. Still, her routine looked reallystrong until she had too much steam on atumbling pass and went out of bounds in a big way.Kyndal Robarts rolled out of her Arabian double front. It looked so smooth, it almost looked on purpose, butof course it counted as a fall. Then, she almostfell again on her last pass. Her start value wasa 9.80.
