Utah head coach Jim Boylen
"After our loss at New Mexico, we've met and practiced, met and practiced. Winning on the road is about toughness. You have to be mentally tough and we were not tough enough at New Mexico. Tonight we grinded it out and did enough to win. I thought our defense was awesome at times."
"We have had some unreal games with these guys [UNLV]. We talked about getting a lead with under five minutes remaining and closing the game out, and we did that. There was a great crowd in here tonight [16,594], it was a great atmosphere."
On the play of David Foster and the upperclassmen:
"Foster was terrific tonight. He made some big free throws and defended the front of the rim. We had that with Luke Nevill and we have that with David. Tillie is a physical specimen. He is as athletic as UNLV but is bigger. He was great tonight. I thought Carlon Brown and Luka Drca did what they had to do for us to get a win."
On the team's free throw shooting:
"We have been a good free throw shooting team since I have been here but we were not the other night [at New Mexico]. We talked about it a lot since then and we practice it the last couple days. The key to free throw shooting is focus and toughness."
