MICHIGAN UTAHVAULT VAULTKatie Zurales 9.775 Stephanie McAllister 9.775Kari Pearce 9.625 Beth Rizzo 9.800Brittnee Martinez 9.800 Daria Bijak 9.800Sarah Curtis 9.900 Jamie Deetscreek 9.700Kylee Botterman 9.875 Annie DiLuzio 9.875Natalie Beilstein 9.875 Kyndal Robarts 9.950VT: 49.250; Running: 49.250 VT: 49.200; Running:97.675Utah vault notes:Stephanie McAllister had a nice, big clean vault in the air.A stop out of her landing cost her.Beth Rizzo went way out on that vault. Sort of took along lean on the landing, but had a lot of pop.She really runs down that runway fast.Daria Bijak got a huge intake of breath on that vault.I love it because no one has ever seen it. She landeda teeny bit low, but a nice vault.Jamie Deetscreek was clean, but didn't get much air.She landed sort of close to the horse and lookedreally mad.Annie DiLuzio's vault looked flawless and I hoped for a 10.0.When one judge gave it a 9.85, my jaw dropped. ThenKyndal Robarts went to the rafters, dropped from the sky, stuck it cold at the end of the mat, and ... well, let's put it this way. ONE judge gave a 10.0 and so didI, but my score doesn't count.
BARS BARSKelsey Knutson 9.150 Kyndal Robarts 9.675Maureen Moody 9.750 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.775Brittnee Martinez 9.000 Cortni Beers 9.600Jordan Sexton 9.800 Stephanie McAllister 9.675Sarah Curtis 9.850 Daria Bijak 9.750Kylee Botterman 9.850 Jamie Deetscreek 8.050UB: 48.400; Running: 97.625 UB: 48.475; Running: 48.475Utah bar notes:One judge gave Kyndal Robarts a 9.75 and the other a 9.60.She didn't get quite straight on a couple of handstandsand she was a little sluggish, probably because she hasbeen sick all week. She stuck her landing nicely.Jacq Johnson hit nice handstands and her routine flowed. She hit her dismount. I think the scoring is justtight.Cortni Beers got nailed for a step on her dismount. Ithought the rest of her routine was pretty good.Stephanie McAllister really had a good routine. Goodhandstands, oohs and ahs from the crowd on herMcAllister move, but one judge saw it as a 9.60(the other a 9.75).Daria Bijak almost overrotated on her mount, butcorrected nicely and went on to a solid routine. Her release moves were particularly big and shestuck her landing. Good routine.Jamie Deetscreek must have had one eye on allher family in the stands. She stalled on the top atthe start, did some extra swings, skipped a bunch ofstuff and then fell on her dismount. Rough routine forsure.
BEAM BEAMSarah Curtis 9.725 Stephanie McAllister 9.100Jaclyn Kramer 9.475 Fumina Kobayashi 9.175Jordan Sexton 9.800 Cortni Beers 9.775Brittnee Martinez 9.600 Annie DiLuzio 9.825Kylee Botterman 9.800 Daria Bijak 9.775Kelsey Knutson 9.875 Kyndal Robarts 9.825BB: 48.800; Running: 146.425 BB: 48.375; Running: 195.100Utah beam notes:Stephanie McAllister had a nice routine going ...hit her series, everything on, but she missed thebeam on a twisting leap and her feet just didn'thit. In her first college beam routine to count, Fumina Kobayashicouldn't quite handle the pressure of following a fall andshe, too, fell. I had a feeling it was coming and tried towill her to stay on, but it didn't work.Cortni Beers had a fabulous routine. She just walked throughthat thing. I saw it as close to a 9.90. Not sure what waswrong with it.Annie DiLuzio did a gorgeous routineand got a 9.90 from one judge. A 9.825does not say the story of that routine in my opinion.Daria Bijak really fought through that one. She was atfull power, with giant leaps, but she really workedit to keep her feet down on the plank.Kyndal Robarts was clean, smooth, light on her feet andhigh on her leaps. Nice routine.
FLOOR FLOORJaclyn Kramer 9.675 Jacqeline Johnson 9.750Brittnee Martinez 9.800 Beth Rizzo 9.750Jordan Sexton 9.775 Stephanie McAllister 9.525Sarah Curtis 9.900 Daria Bijak 9.900Natalie Beilstsein 9.875 Kyndal Robarts 9.825Kylee Botterman 9.950 Annie DiLuzio 9.825FX: 49.300; Running: 195.725 FX: 49.050; Running: 146.725Utah floor notes:Jacq Johnson replaced a struggling Jamie Deetscreekin the floor lineup and did a good job. She was cleanuntil her feet skittered on the mat on her last tumblingpass.Beth Rizzo showed a lot of zip on that routine. She had a couple oflittle steps out of tumbling passes. Not really a full step, but enough for a deduction.Steph McAllister showed some real grit and leg strengthon her middle pass. She was really low and looked likeshe was down, but she saved it. Still, got hit hard forit because it was so close. In every arena we compete, fans join my Daria Bijakfan club. This was no exception. That first pass gets'em every time, just like her vault. Great routine.Kyndal Robarts also had a beauty. Don't let the 9.825 foolyou. It was a great routine. High flying, nice dance, leaps.Annie DiLuzio's triple and two and a half were great in theair ... perfect in fact. But she didn't land either cleanlyand I think that's where the deductions came.
