THE MEET
Utah (15-4)--the only program to make every NCAA Championship--will compete at the 2010 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships in Gainesville, Fla., April 22-24. It marks a record 35th-consecutive national championship appearance for the Utes, who have qualified for all 29 NCAA Championships. The Utes open NCAA competition on Thursday, Apr. 22 in the afternoon semifinal, starting at 1 p.m. EDT (11 a.m. MDT). A second semi follows at 7 p.m. EDT. Live scoring and video will be available at NCAA.com. There is no live TV coverage. CBS will broadcast delayed coverage of the meet on May 8 at 1 p.m. MDT.
SEMIFINAL FIELDS
Joining the Utes in the afternoon semifinal are UCLA, Oklahoma, Oregon State, LSU and Nebraska. The evening semifinal has Florida, Alabama, Stanford, Arkansas, Missouri and Michigan. The top three teams from each semifinal session will advance to the Super Six team finals on Friday, Apr. 23. The all-around champion will be determined on the first day of competition. Individual event championships are scheduled for Saturday, April 24.
CHAMPION OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Utah is making a record 29th-straight NCAA Championship appearance and has finished in the top two 16 times, including nine NCAA Championships and seven runner-up finishes. Utah is the only program to qualify for every NCAA Championship. The Utes, who are competing at their 35th-consecutive national championship dating back to the AIAW years, has won 10 total national titles: 1981 (AIAW), 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995.
NCAA FIRST
Utah shattered the NCAA attendance record by averaging 14,213 fans per meet in the Huntsman Center this season. By doing so, the Utes became the first team other than basketball ever to win a women's collegiate season attendance title. The 14,213 average crowd in the Huntsman Center (which seats 15,000), broke Utah's previous NCAA record of 13,861 set just a year ago. One of the best attended women's sports in history, Utah gymnastics has averaged over 11,000 fans a meet at home for the past 20 years. Utah owns every gymnastics attendance record and has won 26 of the last 29 gymnastics attendance titles, including the last six. Utah also set the NCAA gymnastics single-meet attendance record by drawing a crowd of 15,552 against Georgia on Jan. 22, 2010.

REGION RECAP
Kyndal Robarts brushed off a recently-sprained ankle to place second in the all-around and on the balance beam, and Daria Bijak and Annie DiLuzio tied for first on bars and floor, respectively, to lead Utah to a second-place finish in the Salt Lake City Regional. Utah scored a 196.900 in finishing as the regional runner-up to Florida (197.675). The Utes secured their position in nationals on their last event--the balance beam--by posting their highest score of the season on that event (49.350).
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
Utah is the only gymnastics program that has qualified for all 29 NCAA Championships. The Utes have made 35 straight national appearances, including the AIAW years ... The closest NCAA Championship finishes were in 1994 and 1989. In 1994, Utah edged Alabama 196.400-196.350, and in 1989, Georgia nipped runner-up UCLA 192.650-192.600 ... The best score ever at nationals was UCLA's 198.125 in 2004 ... The NCAA champion has won its qualifying session 14 times in 17 years under the three-day format: Georgia in 1993, 1998, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009; Alabama in 1996 and 2002; and UCLA in 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004 ... Utah won the NCAA title in 1994 and 1995, after finishing second and third, respectively, in the qualifying round. UCLA took first place in 1997 after placing second in the semifinals.
UTAH CO-COACHES
After 34 years as Utah's head coach, Greg Marsden--the winningest coach in gymnastics history--now shares the title with wife and longtime assistant coach
Megan Marsden. Greg, 937-164-6 in his 35th season at Utah, is the only 900-win coach in gymnastics history. In regular season competition, he is 469-69-2. Megan, 15-4 in her first year as co-head coach, is in her 26th year overall. She served as an assistant coach from 1985-96 and the associate head coach from 1997-2009.
