NEBRASKA UTAHVAULT VAULTMaddie Steinauer 9.825 Lia Del Priore 9.775Janelle Giblin 9.850 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.675Brittany Skinner 9.800 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.775Jamie Schleppenbach 9.875 Nansy Damianova 9.850Lora Evanstad 9.850 Stephanie McAllister 9.825Erin Davis 9.925 Corrie Lothrop 9.875VT: 49.325; Running: 49.325 VT: 49.150; Running: 98.250Utah vault notes:With All-America vaulter Kyndal Robarts outwith a knee injury, Lia Del Priore stepped in andstarted things off with a season best 9.775.Jacq Johnson's vault didn't have anything major wrongthat I saw, but it didn't have much amplitude or distance.Mary Beth Lofgren's vault was outstanding. She leanedforward a little on her landing, but I am puzzledon her deductions. Stephanie McAllister went big, buthad a step on her landing. Corrie Lothrop had a lotof air and great distance. Small, late half step on landing.
BARS BARSJanelle Giblin 9.850 Nansy Damianova 9.750Brittnee Habbib 9.850 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.800Emily Wong 9.800 Cortni Beers 9.150Lora Evenstad 9.425 Gael Mackie 9.875Brittany Skinner 9.625 Corrie Lothrop 9.800Maria Scaffidi 9.825 Stephanie McAllister 9.925UB: 48.950; Running: 98.275 UB: 49.150; Running: 49.150Utah bar notes:Nansy Damianova really got Utah off to a nice start. Her routine was clean and really pretty. Jacq Johnsonfollowed Nansy with one of her better bar routines.Like Nansy, no real breaks and good form.Cortni Beers continued her struggles on bars, falling near the start. Corrie Lothrop hada pause on the top bar, but I'm surprised shewas penalized so much for it since she hada nice tall handstand and, after hanging outfor a little while, she resumed a good routine.Maybe I missed a tenth somewhere else. StephanieHappy McAllister just flew through that beautifulroutine. It reminded me of Kristina Baskett theway she moved on the bars. Big air and nice solidstick on the dismount.
BEAM BEAMJanelle Giblin 9.200 Fumina Kobayashi 9.725Jamie Schleppenbach 9.075 Gael Mackie 9.600Brittany Skinner 8.400 Stephanie McAllister 9.775Maddie Steinauer 9.750 Cortni Beers 9.750Emily Wong 9.800 Corrie Lothrop 9.850Brittnee Habbib 9.775 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.850BB: 47.600; Running: 145.875 BB: 48.950; Running: 196.200Utah beam notes:Fumina Kobayashi had only a balance check (relativelybig) early on. From then on, she was rock solid.Very proud of Gael mackie on that routine. Shenearly fell on the flight series that was sorough against UCLA. She hung on and was gooduntil some steps on her dismount. Good jobhanging tough. I'll just say one thing aboutStephanie McAllister's routine. Watch the video! It was a beauty, believe me.Maybe I'm missing some things from my vantagepoint, because I thought both Steph and CortniBeers' routines were going to fly for bigscores. Nonetheless, Cort really came backnicely after last week's troubles on beam.Corrie Lothrop had an extra step midway throughher routine, but the rest was nice, clean andsolid. MB Lothrop's routine was, OK, I'll say itagain: beautiful. I need to come with some newwords. She has great lines and she moves sosmoothly.
FLOOR FLOOREmily Wong 9.775 Lia Del Priore 9.475Jamie Schleppenbach 9.800 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.725Maddie Steinauer 9.175 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.800Erin Davis 9.725 Nansy Damianova 9.850Maria Scaffidi 9.675 Corrie Lothrop 9.850Janelle Giblin 9.900 Stephanie McAllister 9.775FX: 48.800; Running: 194.750 FX: 49.000; Running: 147.250Utah floor notes:From her score, it looks like thejudges were in the same boat as I was on Lia DelPriore's floor routine. I don't think we'd knowif her rear end touched the floor unless we hadan instant replay booth.I had no problem evaluating MB Lofgren's routine.I thought it was great--tumbling and dance. Myscore doesn't count though. One judge gave hera 9.800, but she finished with a 9.725.Jacq Johnson had her second excellent floor routinein the last two weeks. She is really showing itoff. Nansy Damianova did her normal clean, nice routine. One judge gave her a 9.95.OK, Corrie Lothrop's routine was amazing. One judge saw it as a 9.95, which I think mostin attendance did. I wonder if we will protestthe 9.75 from the other judge. He was high onNansy's btw. Corrie's leaps, dance andcool tumbling were all outstanding.Stephanie McAllister wasn't quite as sharpthis week in her first try at the anchorposition (Kyndal was scheduled to go last).Steph kind of skittered out of her third pass.I also thought she was a little low on her full-in,although she stuck it fine.
