THIS WEEK IN UTAH GYMNASTICS
The No. 3-ranked Utah gymnasts (5-1) host No. 8 Michigan (10-2) on Friday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center. It is the fifth-annual Short People Appreciation night and any fan who is the same height or shorter than the 5-foot gymnast cutouts at the entrances will receive a free general admission ticket good for upper bowl seating. QUICK STICKS
Utah is averaging nearly 13,000 fans per meet in the Huntsman Center (12,871) ... Utah is ranked No. 3 in the nation for the third straight week. Next week, the rankings will switch from total average to regional qualifying score (RQS formula is on page 3) ... The Utes have improved their score every week of the season, with a season high of 196.975 in last week's win over No. 13 Washington ... Utah has not counted a fall yet this season and has hit 137-144 of its routines for a 95% success rate ... Without a fall through six meets are

Utah is one of two teams (second-ranked Stanford is the other) with three all-arounders in the top 15: McAllister is tied for No. 6 (39.325 average), Lothrop is 11th (39.242) and Lofgren is 14th (39.225). GOOD AND PLENTY
Utah's freshman class has performed 51-percent of the team's total routines (74-144) and is without a fall (74-74) ... With the loss of senior All-American
Kyndal Robarts in the third meet of the season, five of Utah's six vaulters are now freshmen ... The freshman class owns 12 of Utah's 19 individual victories ... All six of Utah's freshmen have competed to count this season:

LAST WEEK
Boosted by season highs on vault (49.325) and bars (49.375) to start of the meet, Utah beat 13th-ranked Washington 196.975-195.475 before a crowd of 12,359 in the Huntsman Center.
Corrie Lothrop (39.50) edged
Stephanie McAllister (39.475) for all-around honors. Lothrop also picked up a win on floor (9.925) while McAllister won bars (9.925).
Mary Beth Lofgren scored a 9.90 on vault and beam to win both events.
SERIES SHORTS
(For complete series results, see page 6) ... Utah leads the overall series with Michigan by a 21-11 count and is 9-2 in Salt Lake City ... Michigan has the most recent win--beating the Utes in Ann Arbor last February to snap a six-meet Ute win streak.

Team Notes: Senior Kylee Botterman is the nation's second-ranked all-arounder (39.504 average) ... Botterman, who has a season all-around best of 39.625, scored the first 10.0 in the nation this season last week on vault ... All-America sophomore Brittnee Martinez returned from injury to compete in her first meet of the season last week against Stanford and Nebraska, while NCAA regional uneven bars champion Trish Wilson (out last year with an injury), is also back in the lineup ... Michigan went 1-1 in last week's tri-meet--losing the lead and the meet to No. 2 Stanford on the final event and beating No. 9 Nebraska.
