That was a big timevault!Jacq Johnson's vault got the Ute fans chanting. Unfortunately,I missed it due to some disturbances at the table. It wasa career-high on the event for Jacq.Mary Beth Lofgren had a lot of distance and landed well.Gael Mackie, a last second replacement for injuredVictoria Shanley (back spasms), stumbled on her landing.Nansy Damianova made that look easy. Beautiful in the airand lots of air. Nice landing.Stephanie McAllister also went big and clean. She held herlanding just long enough and knew it with a huge grin.
BARS BARSRachel Vaske 9.600 Hailee Hansen 9.700Amdanda Watamaniuk 9.025 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.800Lindsie Boone 9.725 Nansy Damianova 9.825Paige Jones 9.750 Cortni Beers 9.800Jackie Dillon 9.750 Stephanie McAllister 9.900Nicole Simoneau 9.825 Gael Mackie 9.925UB: 48.650; Running: 96.775 UB: 49.250; Running: 49.250Utah bar notes:I didn't get to see all of Hailee Hansen's routine because I wastrying to figure out what was going on with USU's vaulter (shescratched). What I saw was pretty good. Really high dismountwith a step.Jacq Johnson's nice routine was highlighted by great handstands.Nansy Damianova's routine was clean and she did a big, cleandismount.Cortni Beers made a nice save on her final handstand ... almostrotated over, but instead hung there like she meant it andcalmly came back down and around.Stephanie McAllister flew from bar to bar. Great handstands, swingand big, stuck dismount. Loved that routine.Gael Mackie's routine was similar to McAllister's. Big moves, donesmoothly and a big finale.
BEAM BEAMCammi Muhr 9.275 Fumina Kobayashi 9.350Rachel Viske 9.700 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.750Rebecca Holliday 9.725 Stephanie McAllister 9.800Haley Hogan 9.125 Cortni Beers 9.825Jackie Dillon 9.650 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.775Nicole Simoneau 9.725 Gael Mackie 9.875BB: 48.075; Running: 144.850 BB: 49.025; Running: 196.550Utah beam notes:Fumina Kobayashi had trouble all the way through andtouched the beam at one point (non-weight bearing, buta hand down.Boy, Jacq Johnson was a gamer on that beam routine--the firstof her career. She had two balance checks, but was notgoing to be stopped. Gutsy routine. To reiterate, I love Stephanie McAllister's gymnastics. Her beam movement reminds me of Kristina Baskett. She's notgetting those scores yet, but hopefully she will soon.Mary Beth's big step out on her landing cost her bigwith one judge who gave her a 9.70 (the other saw a 9.85).The routine on the beam was great. I wonder if MB relaxedtoo much on that landing.Gael Mackie pulled through big time at the end ofthe lineup. Great routine earned her a career high.Watch out for Nansy Damianova. She went exhibition on beamand killed it. She was dynamite and scored a 9.825, whichwould have been much higher had she been a starter!
FLOOR FLOORRachel Viske 9.700 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.800Brittney Mackins 9.425 Jacquelyn Johnson 9.875Cammi Muhr 9.675 Lia Del Priore 9.650Lyndsie Boone 9.050 Nansy Damianova 9.900Paige Jones 9.750 Stephanie McAllister 9.900Jackie Dillon 9.850 Gael Mackie 9.650FX: 48.300; Running: 193.150 FX: 49.125; Running: 147.525Utah floor notes:I thought that was Mary Beth Lofgren's best floor of theyear. All her tumbling passes were clean, other thana late side step after landing her last pass. (PS,I wrote that before the judges gave her a career-tying9.80!).I'm on a roll. I thought that was Jacq Johnson's bestfloor routine too, and was writing it when myscoring system went down. Really clean and she movedfrom element to element much faster than usual. Greatlandings.Lia Del Priore looked like she was having issues with thecarpet on the floor. She almost stepped out twice, doinga nice job staying in and then skidded a bit whenshe landed her final pass.wow, Nansy Damianova's floor routine was marvelous. I thinkshe maybe changed one of her tumbling passes from lastweek, but even if she didn't, that routine was beautiful.Big tumbling, nice landings, great dance.Stephanie McAllister was just as good as Nansy. I loveher gymnastics, how energetic and clean everything is.Thanks to my trusty assistant Kate Sturgeon, stillon duty back in SLC, telling me when I forget topost scores here!Gael Mackie stepped out and I wonder if that's whyone judge started her at a 9.90 value. One judgegave her a 9.80 prior to the .10 deduction for OOB.
