THIS WEEK IN UTAH GYMNASTICS
No. 7 Utah (7-3) completes its regular season slate on Friday, Mar. 18 in Provo, Utah, against Brigham Young (12-6-2). The annual Deseret Duel starts at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center. The meet will be televised live on BYUTV. Live commentary and scores will be provided on UtahUtes.com.
POSTSEASON DESTINATION
The NCAA office will announce the regional destinations for 36 qualifying schools on Monday, Mar. 21 at noon MT. The regional championships will be held on Saturday, Apr. 2 on the campuses of Alabama, Denver, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma and Oregon State. Qualification into regionals is as follows: The top 18 teams will be seeded based on regional qualifying score (RQS) and there will be three seeded teams in each regional. Hosts will remain in their respective regions, regardless of seed. Teams 19-36 will be assigned to a site based on geographic proximity. Two teams from each region - or 12 total teams - will advance to the 2011 NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, April 15-17.
QUICK STICKS
Utah is the NCAA women's attendance champion for the second-straight year. The Utes averaged 13,503 fans to their home meets this season to lead runner-up Tennessee women's basketball (13,078) and third-place Alabama gymnastics (12,730). Corrie Lothrop, Utah's highest-scoring all-arounder (39.50 best), remains day-to-day with an ankle injury that has allowed her to compete only two routines (both on beam) in the last three weeks ... Also questionable for this week's meet is freshman vaulter
Victoria Shanley, who has missed the last three meets with a back injury ... Utah has been without senior first-team All-American
Kyndal Robarts (knee) since the third meet of the season ... The Utes have not counted a fall yet this season and have hit 229-240 of their routines for a 95% success rate ... Stephanie McAllister is tied for seventh in the nation in the all-around with a 39.385 regional qualifying score and she is tied for fourth on the bars (9.905 RQS). Senior
Gael Mackie is tied for eighth nationally on bars (9.895 RQS) ... McAllister leads Utah with 12 wins. Other Ute winners are

LAST WEEK
The Utes went 24-of-24 but lost to No. 5 Oregon State 196.600-196.325 in Corvallis on Mar. 12. Gale Mackie won her first all-around with a career-high 39.150 and also won bars (9.90).
Nansy Damianova scored a 9.875 on vault, bars and floor--winning the floor title. The Utes led for the first two rotations but steps and balance checks cost them on the final two events in losing for the first time since 2003 to the Beavers.
