SALT LAKE CITY
The Utah gymnastics team is ranked No. 2 in the nation in the first regular season poll. The rankings are currently based on total season average. Utah, whose 197.400 in a win over Utah State last Friday is the best in the country this season, is averaging a 196.713 after two meets. Earning the top spot this week is Nebraska, which scored a 197.375 in its only meet to date.
Ute freshman Georgia Dabritz, who scored a 9.975 on floor last week, is the leading the nation on that event with a 9.938 average. Other Utes ranked in the top 10 are Stephanie McAllister, No. 9 in the all-around (39.388) and Kailah Delaney, tied for No. 7 on vault (9.913).
The Utes are ranked second on beam (49.138) and floor (49.313) and are No. 4 on vault (49.350).
Utah takes this week off before returning to action on Friday, Jan. 27 against Brigham Young in the Huntsman Center.
