SALT LAKE CITY - Utah goalkeeper Lindsey Luke was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Utes keep their unbeaten home mark intact this past weekend in a 1-1 draw against No. 2 UCLA and a 1-0 win over USC.
Luke matched the single-season shutout mark set by Ashley Mason in 2003 with her eighth blanking of the season against the Trojans on Sunday. The redshirt sophomore also made eight saves in a tie against the second-ranked Bruins.
Luke has allowed only seven goals in 1283:53 minutes of action this season for a goals-against average of 0.49, 12th in the nation. Her save percentage (.909) ranks fourth nationally and she leads the league in saves (70) and saves per game (5.4).
For her efforts on the pitch, Luke was also named the College Sports Madness Pac-12 Player of the Week and CollegeSoccer360.com's National Goalkeeper of the Week.
The Utes, currently third in the Pac-12 standings, have three games remaining in the regular season. They play at Arizona on Friday at 3 p.m. and ASU on Sunday at noon. These two games, as well as the home finale vs. Colorado on Nov. 8, will all be televised on the Pac-12 Network
