SAN FRANCISCO-
In a poll taken by the Pac-12 women's gymnastics coaches, Utah was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2015 Pac-12 regular season title, the conference office announced today.
The defending Pac-12 champion Utes received 46 points (five first-place votes) to edge UCLA (43 points, three first-place votes). Stanford was third with 39 points. It marks the first time Utah has started the season as the Pac-12 Conference favorite.

Earlier this week, Utah was projected to finish sixth in the national preseason coaches' poll while UCLA was picked fifth.
Seven of the eight Pac-12 schools that sponsor gymnastics are ranked in the preseason top 25: No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Utah, No. 10 Stanford, No. 11 Oregon State, No. 14 California, No. 21 Arizona and No. 24 Washington.
Utah won the regular season and Pac-12 Conference titles last season. The Utes swept the league's top honors in 2014, winning Coach of the Year (Greg Marsden/Megan Marsden), Gymnast of the Year (Tory Wilson) and Specialist of the Year (Georgia Dabritz). Wilson won the 2014 Pac-12 all-around championship, while Dabritz won three of the four event titles (vault, bars and floor) at the Pac-12 Championships.
Wilson and Dabritz are both seniors on this year's team, as is Corrie Lothrop, the inaugural Pac-12 all-around champion in 2012. They are three of Utah's six returning All-Americans.
The Utes open their season on Jan. 9 at BYU and their first home meet is Jan. 16 against Southern Utah, Boise State and UC Davis. Utah kicks off its Pac-12 season against UCLA on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. MT. The meet will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks.
