NCAA REGIONALS ARE APRIL 4
The 18-1, Pac-12 Champion, No. 3-ranked Utah gymnastics team has earned the top seed in the NCAA Berkeley Regional, Saturday, Apr. 4 in Berkeley, Calif. The meet starts at 6 p.m. PDT (7 p.m. MDT) in Haas Pavilion. The teams in the Berkeley Regional by national rank and subsequent seed are No. 3 Utah, No. 10 Georgia, No. 15 Boise State, No. 20 California, Utah State and BYU. Utah must finish in the top two to advance to a record 40th-straight national championship. Cal will provide a free live video stream and live scores on calbears.com. MEET IN A MINUTE
The Utes leave for regionals on the morning of Thursday, Apr. 2 and will participate in the open practice on Friday from 1:15-3:00 PDT in Haas Pavilion ... For the third-straight year, Utah has drawn the uneven bars as its first event at regionals. In 2013 and 2014, the Utes sat out with a bye before joining the action, but their actual event order was identical. The Utes will rotate as follows: bars, beam, bye, floor, vault, bye. For rotation orders for all teams, see page 1 ... Utah has won 28 regional titles (including 25 of 33 NCAA) and finished second the other 11 years. Last year, the Utes won the Fayetteville Regional ... Utah has two NCAA regional champs on its squad:
Georgia Dabritz (bars 2012, 2013; vault 2013) and
Tory Wilson (vault 2013), although Wilson will be unable to compete due to season-ending injuries suffered at the Pac-12 Championships on Mar. 21 ... Rotating with the Utes at the Berkeley Regional will be at-large all-arounder Cami Guyer of San Jose State.
TICKET FOR TWO
The top two teams from each of the six regions will be ticketed for the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, Apr. 17-19. The two teams advancing from the Berkeley Region will compete in Semifinal 1 against the qualifiers from the Columbus and Morgantown Regionals. Semifinal 1 starts at 1 p.m. CT (noon MT), followed by Semifinal 2 at 7 p.m. CT. The top three teams from each semifinal will compete in the Super Six, starting at 6 p.m. CT (5 p.m. MT) on Saturday, Apr. 18. Individual finals are at Sunday, Apr. 19 at 2 p.m. CT (1 p.m. MT).
WE MEET AGAIN
The Utes have faced four of the teams in the Berkeley Regional this season and are 3-1 against them. The Utes defeated BYU on Jan. 9, Boise State on Jan. 16 and California on Mar. 21 at the Pac-12 Championship. Utah came up short at Georgia on Mar. 14. HOME AT HAAS
While host California is most at home in Haas Pavilion, Utah has also enjoyed its hospitality. The Utes won the 2014 Pac-12 Championship in Haas and also took first place the previous time they competed at an NCAA Regional hosted by the Bears back in 2007. After winning the 2007 Regional in Haas Pavilion, Utah went on to finish second at the NCAA Championships.
FOR THE RECORD
Utah won its second-straight Pac-12 Championship on Mar. 21, posting a 198.150. It was the second-highest score in conference championship history (UCLA won the 2003 Pac-10 title with a 198.175) ... Utah's 18-1 overall record includes an 11-1 regular season mark and a 7-0 slate at the Pac-12 Championship. Utah's sole loss was to Georgia on Mar. 14 (198.250-197.675) ... Utah broke its own NCAA gymnastics attendance record this season, averaging 14,950 to its home meets and winning its fifth all-women's sports attendance title. LEADERS OF THE PAC
Their four seasons of Pac-12 membership have been golden for the Utes, who have won back-to-back team titles (2014-15), three all-around championships (
Corrie Lothrop in 2012,
Tory Wilson in 2014 and
Georgia Dabritz in 2015), two Gymnast of the Year awards (Wilson 2014, Dabritz 2015), two Scholar-Athlete awards (Stephanie McAllister 2012, Dabritz 2015), and one Freshman of the Year (Dabritz 2012) and Specialist of the Year (Dabritz 2014) citation. In addition, Greg Marsden and
Megan Marsden have been voted Coach of the Year for the past two seasons. Seven Utes earned all-conference honors this season, led by first-team all-arounders Wilson and Dabritz. Also making the first-team were Lothrop on bars and floor,
Kailah Delaney on vault and
Kari Lee on floor. Named to the second team were Lee on vault and beam,
Kassandra Lopez on bars and

UTES LOSE WILSON
Utah will enter NCAA postseason play without senior co-captain
Tory Wilson, its highest-ranked all-arounder, a seven-time All-American (including two regular season All-America awards this year) and the 2014 Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year. At the 2015 Pac-12 Championships on Mar. 21, Wilson won the vault with a 10.0 and scored a 9.90 on bars and 9.875 on beam before suffering career-ending injuries during the first pass of her floor routine. Wilson ruptured her right Achilles tendon on take-off for a double layout, and suffered a Lisfranc fracture to her left foot on landing. She finishes her season ranked No. 9 in the nation in the all-around (39.485 RQS) and No. 8 on vault (9.940 RQS). Wilson is a three-time first-team All-Pac-12 selection and the 2014 Pac-12 all-around champion. Utah's two-time co-MVP was the 2013 NCAA North Central Region Gymnast of the Year and the 2013 regional vault champion. She finished her career with three perfect 10.0s on vault.
QUICK STICKS
Utah's final regular season national rank of No. 3 ties it best this season (Utah was also third in the Feb. 9 rankings) ... Utah is the nation's top-ranked team on both vault (49.560 RQS) and bars (49.500 RQS) ...
Georgia Dabritz, who finished second on bars at the 2013 NCAA Championships, is currently No. 1 in the nation on the event (9.975 RQS), a position she has held for the five weeks leading into regionals ... The Utes have four vaulters ranked in the top 25, although No. 8

A Ute has won every bar competition this year, with
Georgia Dabritz (the nation's top-ranked bar worker) claiming nine victories and
Corrie Lothrop winning twice ... Dabritz has four 10.0s this season (3 on bars, 1 on vault) and seven in her career.
Tory Wilson had two 10.0s on vault this season bringing her career total to three ... Four Utes have gone all-around this season: Dabritz (39.775 best), Wilson (39.65), Lothrop (39.575 twice) and
Baely Rowe (39.350) ...
Becky Tutka holds the school record for consecutive routines without a fall (78). She is 78-of-78 in her career ... Utah has counted a fall in a just one meet this season (on beam at Oregon State).
