Utah rebounded with a 25-22 win in the second set to tie the match at 1-1 before both teams headed into the locker rooms for intermission. Gonzaga registered a pair of different four-point leads early in the set, but the Utes managed to come back with a 4-1 run to pull within a point and later used a 7-3 run to take a 20-18 lead. Utah went up set point, 24-22, and Adora Anae followed with a kill to give Utah the set.
The Utes trailed by as many as six points early in the third set, but then countered with a 13-3 run to take an 18-15 lead and force the Zags to call a timeout. Utah would get to 20 points first with a block from Berkeley Oblad and Brenna DeYoung, but Gonzaga later came back to tie it 20-20 with a Utah attack error. Utah would go on to win five of the final seven point to take the set 25-22 and go up 2-1 in the match.
Both teams would trade points throughout the majority of the fourth set until a 3-1 run put Utah ahead 18-15, which forced the Zags to take a timeout. The Utes would win two of the next three points to go up 20-16, but Gonzaga countered with four straight points to pull within a point and Utah was then forced to call a timeout. Gonzaga would close out the set winning six of the next nine points to take the set 25-23 and tie the match 2-2.
Utah opened the final set winning three of the first four points, but Gonzaga came back to tie the set up at 4-4 with a block from McKayla Ferris and Imani Wimbush. Utah countered winning nine straight points and taking a commanding 13-4 lead with a kill from Oblad. The Zags would get one more point, but another block from Oblad and DeYoung, followed by Katoa's kill put the set (15-5) and match (3-2) away for the Utes.
