The No. 7 Utah gymnasts (1-0, 0-0 Pac-12) make their first road trip of the season, meeting Southern Utah (1-1) on Friday, Jan. 15 in Cedar City. The meet starts at 7 p.m. in the Centrum Arena. Quick Sticks

Utah beat SUU in its only previous meet in Cedar City back in 1997 … Utah is ranked No. 1 in the nation on the uneven bars by virtue of its 49.225 score in last Friday's season-opening win over BYU … Utah's 7,315 season tickets is a new school record. The old mark was 7,142 set in 2014. Utah drew 15,023 fans to its first home meet.

Chalk Talk

Utah opened its 2016 campaign with a 196.175-193.850 win over BYU on Jan. 8 in Salt Lake City … Utah is tied for No. 7 in this week's national rankings. The rankings are based on season average until Feb. 15. Utah's best individual ranking comes from Baely Rowe at No. 3 on bars (9.925 average). Also ranked in the top 10 is freshman Sabrina Schwab on floor (9.90) … Ute winners this season: Rowe (1), Schwab (1), Kailah Delaney (1), Maddy Stover (1) … The Utes are 23- 24 in hit routines (routines without a fall). Gymnasts who have hit every routine are Delaney (3-3), Rowe (3-3), Breanna Hughes (3-3), Tiffani Lewis (3-3), Samantha Partyka (3-3), Sabrina Schwab (2-2), Kassandra Lopez (1-1), MaKenna Merrell (1-1) and Maddy Stover (1-1).

Ute Insider

After entering the floor lineup as a last-minute addition, Sabrina Schwab's winning 9.90 routine vs. BYU has earned her a place in this week's lineup … Sophomore Kari Lee made her Ute debut on bars and in the all-around last week. Utah's only all-arounder responded with a 9.775 on bars, but a fall on floor gave her a 38.400 all-around score … Two Ute upperclassmen set or tied career highs in the opener: Breanna Hughes on vault (9.825) and floor (9.85) and Baely Rowe on bars (9.925) … In exhibition, freshman Erika Muhaw scored a 9.775 on vault.

In third and fourth in the preseason coaches' poll were BYU and Utah State.
