SALT LAKE CITY – Katie Faulk, Julia Noskin, Alyssa Palacios, Abby Robertson, Chandler Walter and Camryn Woodall have signed National Letters of Intent to play softball for the University of Utah beginning in the spring of 2018, head coachÂ
Amy Hogue announced today.
"We're excited about this new generation of Utes that we've signed," Hogue added. "With the success of the program in the last couple of seasons we look to raise the bar in every area, and these six players are as excited as we are about being a part of Utah Softball. Each of them brings unique qualities that can will help us towards our goals in the Pac-12 and nationally."
KATIE FAULK
Position:Â C
Hometown:Â Tucson, Ariz.
High School:Â Marana HS
Faulk, a three-time Southern Arizona All-Star honoree was named to FloSoftball.com's Top 100 Watch List. A career .398 hitter that led the state in walks last season for head coach George Corona, she helped lead the Tigers to the quarterfinals.
Faulk is also an Arizona All-Academic Softball selection and played her travel ball for Arizona Cats, winning the 2016 Colorado Sparkler U16 championship
Katie is the daughter of John and Sandra Faulk and has a sister, Emily. Katie plans on majoring in kinesiology and was a member of the National Honor Society while serving as president of the Health Occupation Students of America club at Marana HS
Katie on choosing Utah:Â "Living in Arizona, I've never been able to live somewhere that has all four seasons, so I love the fact that Salt Lake City has that. When I visited for the first time, I fell in love with the community and the support that it gives to the university. I really connected with the coaches and believe that they can make me not only a better player, but a better person."
Coach Hogue on Faulk: "Katie is a presence behind the plate. She has a live arm and will be a threat to base runners in the Pac-12. She's a strong player with a great opportunity to get even stronger when she gets into our system. We look forward to seeing her develop as a hitter and watch her proven power continue to grow."
JULIA NOSKIN
Position:Â INF/OF
Hometown:Â Calabasas, Calif.
High School:Â Agoura HS
Noskin, a two-time First Team All-Conference selection, was also the Marmonte League Defensive Player of the Year. She earned First Team All-California Interscholastic Federation after batting .462 with 23 runs scored for the Chargers and head coach Chance Redmond.
A .431 career hitter, Noskin helped lead Agoura HS to a conference championship. She plays her travel ball for Firecrackers Brashear and helped them earn a third-place finish at the U18 Firework Tournament last year in Colorado.
Julia is the daughter of Scott and Karyn Noskin and has a sister, Lauren. Her grandfather Stan played quarterback at the University of Michigan. She plans on becoming a sports psychologist after being involved with the sports medicine program and winning the Principal's Scholar Athlete Award twice at Agoura HS
Julia on choosing Utah:Â " The campus is beautiful, the coaches are amazing, all the girls on the softball team are so welcoming, and they have a very good softball tradition. I also love that sports are a big deal at Utah and taken seriously. Also, I believe the school will provide me with a good education."
Coach Hogue on Noskin: "Julia is one of the most versatile athletes in the group. She can play all over the infield as well as the outfield. Julia is a triple threat as a hitter and has a great mental approach to the game. She is a slapper with fantastic bat control and lots of upside athletically."
ALYSSA PALACIOS
Position:Â UT
Hometown:Â La Habra, Calif.
High School:Â La Habra HS
Palacios was an All-League selection under head coach Steve Harrington at La Habra HS while also earning Scholar Athlete status and the Coaches Award. She batted . 393 as the Highlanders won their third-straight Freeway League championship.
An accomplished travel ball player, she has helped USA Athletics capture the Schutt Cup championship as well as a Triple Crown Gold national championship. Palacios' squad was also the 2016 Premier Girls Fastpitch runners-up after capturing the Arizona qualifier championship.
Alyssa is the daughter of Rene and Janelle Palacios and has a twin, Rene. She plans on majoring in criminal justice and was a member of the Forensic Police Fire Academy in high school. She also played tennis and was a member of the Homecoming Court.
Alyssa on choosing Utah:Â "The campus is beautiful. I loved driving around the city and seeing how the community is involved with the college and sports. I love the coaches and every time I talked to them it made me want to play for them more."
Coach Hogue on Palacios: "Alyssa will help us in many areas as a utility corner and catcher. She's a leader and pure hitter, with some big bat potential. We are excited about the addition of Alyssa and look for her to challenge our returning players."
ABBY ROBERTSON
Position:Â SS
Hometown:Â Corona, Calif.
High School:Â Santiago HS
Robertson batted .340 for head coach John Perez's Santiago HS squad, en route to earning First Team All-League and All-County honors.
She plays her travel ball with So Cal Athletics and was part of a Best of the West Tournament championship under head coach Ken Briggs. Robertson is ranked as one of the top 40 players in the state of California by MaxPreps.com
Abby is the daughter of Doug and Leslie Robertson and has two siblings, Blake and Cameron. She plans on majoring in business or sports management and was a member of the Honor Roll at Santiago HS
Abby on choosing Utah:Â "The softball program, academics and environment around and within the campus is amazing."
Coach Hogue on Robertson: "Abby is someone who just loves the game and you can see it when she plays. She comes in as a true shortstop with a strong arm and a sure glove. She's a hard worker and is dedicated to being an impact player for us immediately."
CHANDLER WALTER
Position:Â INF
Hometown:Â Gilbert, Ariz.
High School:Â Perry HS
Walter, a two-time All-Section and All-District selection, was also named Female Scholar Athlete of the Year at Perry High School. This past season, she was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Tournament of Champions.
In two years playing for the Pumas, she is batting .405 with 81 runs scored and 45 driven in. Heading into her senior year, she has been selected captain by her teammates and head coach Robb Hehe. Walter also plays travel ball for Firecrackers AZ and is ranked as one of the top 20 players in the state by MaxPreps.com
Chandler is the daughter of Lori and Kevin Walter and has two siblings, Ted and Lindsey. She plans on majoring in engineering and was an honor roll student at Perry HS where she was involved in choir and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Chandler on choosing Utah:Â "I chose the University of Utah because the softball program and coaching staff are outstanding. I also fell in love with the beautiful campus and the friendly city that encounters all four seasons. In addition, Utah is relatively close to my home state, which will allow my family to visit me more frequently."
Coach Hogue on Walter: "Chandler will be exciting to watch grow in our system. We've seen her in a lot of different settings and at multiple positions. She's coachable, athletic, and can play all over the infield."
CAMRYN WOODALL

Hometown:Â Keller, Texas
High School:Â Keller HS
Woodall, the 2016 District MVP, led Keller High School to a 6A State championship for head coach Bryan Poehler. After batting .504 with 42 runs scored and 35 driven in, she was named First Team All-State by the Texas Sports Writers Association and the Dallas Morning News.
Woodall was also named a Junior All-American by MaxPreps.com and earned All-Area honors from the Fort Worth Star Telegram while garnering First Team All- Metroplex recognition. A career .448 hitter, she is also a three-time Academic All-District selection. Woodall plays her travel ball with Texas Glory.
Camryn is the daughter of Anthony and Valerie Woodall, who are both Michigan State graduates, and has one sibling, Caraline, who will play softball at Indiana. Camryn plans on majoring in business and was involved in Operation Beautiful, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and the chemistry club at Keller HS
Camryn on choosing Utah:Â "It is a place where I feel very comfortable and can foresee it to be my new home. I am excited to be able to start my freshman year with a team that I can share my experiences with. Also, it is a great environment to compete."
Coach Hogue on Woodall:Â "We're excited to add Camryn to our team. She's a smart athlete and comes from a great program where she's competed at a high level. As an infielder she is very versatile, runs the bases really well and can add a consistent bat to our team."
