SAN FRANCISCO—Utah's
MyKayla Skinner, already the Pac-12 record holder for most Gymnast of the Week awards, now owns a share of the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week title as well. Skinner, who placed second in the all-around at No. 7 Georgia with a 39.425, has been voted Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the sixth time to tie California's Toni Ann Williams (2015) for the conference record.
Â
The nation's No. 2 ranked all-arounder, Skinner had the best all-around score by a Pac-12 freshman last week and the third-best score overall. She was Utah's high finisher on vault, bars and floor at Georgia—placing third on both vault (9.875) and floor (9.925).
Â
Skinner was also named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Jan. 10, Jan. 17, Jan. 24, Feb. 28 and Mar. 7. Her six Freshman of the Week awards is one off her Pac-12 record seven Gymnast of the Week awards.
Â
Skinner leads Utah into the Pac-12 Championship this Saturday in Georgia. The Utes compete in the second session, which will be televised live on Pac-12 Network at 7 p.m. MT.
