SAN FRANCISCO—The Pac-12 champion Utah gymnastics team was represented by seven student-athletes on the 2017 Pac-12 Gymnastics All-Academic teams announced today by the conference office.
Â
Leading the way for Utah were first-team selections
Shannon McNatt (4.00 GPA in economics),
Sabrina Schwab (4.00 GPA in health, promotion and education) and
Maddy Stover (3.85 GPA in communication). Stover is making her second appearance on the Pac-12 All-Academic first team.
Â
Earning second-team Pac-12 All-Academic honors for a second-straight year was junior
Tiffani Lewis. Utes making the honorable mention team were sophomore
Kari Lee, senior
Baely Rowe and sophomore
MaKenna Merrell. Rowe will finish her Utah career as a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection, having made the second team last year and honorable mention as a sophomore. Lee is a two-time selection (first team in 2016).
Â
To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.0 grade point cumulative average, have completed a year of residency at the school and have participated in 50-percent of the regular-season competitions. Schwab and McNatt were both granted exceptions to the 50-percent requirement.
Â
Utah's three freshmen, as well as sophomore transfer
