SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women's tennis team announced the signing of transfer Leah Heimuli, head coach
Mat Iandolo announced Friday.
"We are very pleased to have signed Leah as a transfer," Iandolo said. "I have watched her game evolve from the time she was 12. She is a very athletic player and the kind of person who is going to bring a lot to us both on and off the court."
Heimuli will join the Utes for the fall 2017 season after transferring from BYU-Hawaii. While attending BYU-Hawaii she is undefeated as singles (24-0) and doubles (19-0).
"I am thrilled to be a part of Utah tennis," Heimuli said. "I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to such a talented and well-coached team, and look forward to competing against other top-ranked programs within the Pac-12."
The Highland, Utah, native played her high school tennis at Lone Peak, winning three state championships. Heimuli was named all-region all four years of high school as well as team captain.
