First three-time All-American in program history
SALT LAKE CITY — Utah's Hannah Flippen was named a First Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association this afternoon. She becomes the first three-time All-America selection in program history.
Earlier this season, Flippen became the first player in Utah history to earn NFCA all-region honors for four-consecutive seasons.  Last week, she became the first Ute to be named an Academic All-American in consecutive years.Â
A two-time Pac-12 Player of the Year, Flippen ranked among the top 10 in the Pac-12 in a number of offensive categories such as batting average (1st), on-base percentage (1st), slugging percentage (3rd), runs batted in (4th) triples (4th), total bases (5th), doubles (6th), runs scored (7th) and homers (9th). She also became the first player in Pac-12 history to win Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year during the same season.
Flippen will play professionally for the ScrapYard Dawgs of the National Pro Fastpitch League and then return to Utah in the fall to pursue her masters degree on a Pac-12 postgraduate scholarship.
