Utah will host an NCAA Regional on Saturday, Apr. 7
INDIANAPOLIS—The NCAA office announced the regional gymnastics fields today and Utah has received the No. 1 seed into the Salt Lake City Regional on Saturday, Apr. 7. The meet will start at 4 p.m. MDT in the Huntsman Center. The field for the Salt Lake City Regional (with national ranking where applicable) is No. 4 Utah, No. 9 California, No. 16 Auburn, No. 21 BYU, Stanford and Southern Utah.

The Salt Lake City (West) Regional is one of six NCAA regionals (all on Apr. 7). The other regional sites are Columbus (Central), Minneapolis (North Central), Raleigh (Southeast), Tuscaloosa (South Central) and University Park (Northeast). The top two teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo., Apr. 20-21. Utah is attempting to run its record string of consecutive national championship appearances to 43. Utah finished fifth at the 2017 NCAA Championships in its 20th Super Six appearance.

Tickets for the Salt Lake City Regional range from $6 to $16 for the general public and are free for the first 250 University of Utah students. Students will need to show their Ucard at Huntsman Center door 3. All seating is lower bowl (the upper bowl will be draped) and ticket prices are $8 for adults/$6 for kids in rows 21-31 and $16 for seats in rows 1-20. Four at-large all-around competitors and eight at-large event specialists will also participate in each regional. A complete list of at-large competitors in the SLC Regional can be found below.

The NCAA Women's Gymnastics Committee conducted a random draw to choose the rotation order across all six regionals. As a No. 1 seed, Utah will start on floor, then rotate to vault, bye before bars, bars and beam before ending on a bye.

Utah is coming off a second-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships. MyKayla Skinner was the all-around and floor co-champion and MaKenna Merrell-Giles won the vault.
