EUGENE, Ore. - Utah Softball dropped its final road game of the season on Sunday evening, 8-1, at No. 2 Oregon.
The Utes out-hit the Ducks, 9-6, but issued eight free passes and committed an error. Ally
Dickman drove in her team's only run, rapping three singles for Utah.
Hailey
Hilburn suffered the loss, lasting just 1 1/3 innings and walking four of the 10 batters she faced.
Katie Donovan pitched the middle 2 2/3 while Miranda
Viramontes got the ball in the fifth and six innings. Megan Kleist picked up the win, her
19th of the season, going five innings and striking out six.Â
Oregon took the lead in the second as Shannon Rhodes took a four-pitch walk before Mary
Iakopo singled. Another four-pitch walk to Mia
Camuso loaded the bases before Lauren
Lindvall cleared them with a double to left center.
Two more runs came across in the third as DJ Sanders started off with a single. Gwen
Svekis hit a two-run homer, her second of the
weekend, to give her six runs batted in for the series and Oregon a 5-0 lead.
Utah got on the board in the fourth as
Kelly Martinez and
Alyssa Barrera singled before
Dickman roped a ball to left for a RBI single.

Oregon capped the scoring in the fifth.
Svekis singled and Rhodes walked for a third time to begin the frame. After a pair of outs,
Lindvall singled on the first pitch to left, making Duck seniors responsible for all the runs in their final home game. A Utah error brought in two more UO runners for the final score.
Utah hosts Oregon State for three games on Senior Weekend with the first contest, Thursday night at 7 p.m. Admission is free to all spectators and if you cannot make it, the game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
