ELDORA, Colo. – Roni Remme won the women's slalom at the Colorado Invitational on Friday, Jan. 11, as the Utah ski team remains in second place overall.
Remme earned her third career victory with the win, jumping from seventh to first with the fastest second run. Eirin Engeset placed sixth, running the third-fastest second run.
Julie Mohagen also scored points for the Utes with a 16
th-place finish while
Katie Vesterstein placed 17
th.
Katie Parker did not finish her second run.
Unfortunately the men's slalom was postponed due to heavy snow. It will be made up at Bridger Bowl in Montana on Jan. 19.
Denver increased its lead in the team standings and leads the Utes 271 to 241. Montana State stands third with 186 points with Colorado (178) and New Mexico (169) fourth and fifth.
An exhibition dual slalom will be held in the evening with results available on Saturday.
The Nordic teams get into the action on Saturday at Steamboat Springs and Howelsen Hill with the women's 5-km and men's 10-km freestyle races in an interval start. Action begins at 10:00 a.m. with results at
