Utah Vault Notes: Another beautiful vault by
Kari Lee. Pretty in flight and stuck landing. All of
Missy Reinstadtler's
deductions likely came from her landing, which she took two and a half hops out of. Really nice vault by
Macey Roberts
for the second week in a row. Great amplitude, distance, stuck landing.
Alexia Burch also looked great from start to
finish. I think she was hurt a little beccause she immediately followed Macey, who had more amplitude.
MaKenna Merrell-Giles
had a great vault with a step back on the landing.
MyKayla Skinner's vault was textbook perfect and one judge threw her a 10.0.
It was just amazing.
Utah Bar Notes:
Kim Tessen wasn't swinging quite as smoothly as usual (she is a little under the weather) but finishes
with a great stick. I thought
Hunter Dula looked solid all the way through. She has a bit of a natural pike to her body
which might be causing the deductions on her handstands. I think the deductions on
MaKenna Merrell-Giles' routine
might have been because she came really close to the top bar on her release move and was a little labored going to
her handstand. She stuck the dismount. Very nice routine by
Missy Reinstadtler. She absolutely soard on that dismount.
Cristal Isa had incredible handstands and a really nice routine. She didn't quite stick the landing, with her left leg bending a little.
MyKayla Skinner's routine looked perfect to me. Perfect handstands, great swing, difficult release moves, stuck dismount.
Utah Beam Notes:
Shannon McNatt made a big case to stay in the beam lineup with that pretty routine. Her leaps
were especially good. One judge gave her a 9.85. Freshman
Cristal Isa was put in the beam lineup during touch warmup,
replacing
Missy Reinstadtler and performed a beautiful routine in her first on beam to count. Nice routine by
Kari Lee. Her
deductions came on her leap series landing and a little slide on her dismount. It looked like
MaKenna Merrell-Giles foot
slipped going into the last flip in her flight series and she fell hard on to the beam. She somehow managed to finish the routine.
Adrienne Randall had ice in her veins. Her signature move as usual drew a gasp from the audience. Deduction was a lttitle
balance check on her flight series and she didn't slide her heels together on her landing.
MyKayla Skinner's deductions were
a balance check on her switch straddle tuck (somersault) and a step on landing her double back.
Utah Floor Notes: Stunning routine by
Macey Roberts, who is off to a terrific start this season. She has really fun elements
in that routine and her dance and tumbling looked great.Good choice getting
Missy Reinstadtler back in the floor lineup.
Her routine was exquistite. She came close to the line on her last landing, but cleared it!
Adrienne Randall's routine received
a 9.90 from one judge. Her chest was a little low on her full in, but she stuck it nicely.
Kim Tessen (running the floor music)
told me she had a small stumble in one corner and on one landing. I didn't even see them. One judge also gave MaKenna
Merrell-Giles a 9.875. Her deduction came on her first pass when she was low on her piked full in. Nice routine otherwise.
Of course, I did not see a single flaw in
MyKayla Skinner's routine, but tattle tale
Kim Tessen told me she slid on her
first pass (double double). I guess it counted for a tenth off.
