The No. 4 ranked Utah gymnasts (3-0, 1-0 Pac-12) compete at No. 19 Arizona State (3-2, 0-1 Pac-12) in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday, Jan. 26. The meet starts at 6:30 p.m. MT in Wells Fargo Arena and will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks. Utah is No. 4 for the second straight week in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) rankings, which are based on total season average. The Utes are tied for No. 1 in the nation on vault and are No. 3 on floor, No. 6 on beam and No. 7 on bars. MyKayla Skinner is No. 1 on vault, No. 3 in the all-around, No. 5 (tie) on floor and No. 6 (tie) on bars. Â MaKenna Merrell-Giles is No. 10 (tie) on vault and No. 13 (tie) on floor. Feb. 1 … Saturday's meet is a homecoming for Arizona natives MyKayla Skinner (Gilbert) and Kari Lee (Peoria). Two-time NCAA champion, two-time NCAA all-around runner-up and 18-time All-American MyKayla Skinner is one of the winningest gymnasts in Utah and Pac-12 history. Skinner holds the Utah record for all-around wins in a season (12 in 2017) and is second in career all-around wins (24, 2017-present). Her 88 total career wins is tied for fourth in program history. Skinner won NCAA titles on floor in 2017 and vault in 2018. The Pac-12 all-around champion as a freshman and sophomore, Skinner owns Pac-12 records for most Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week awards in a season (7) and a career (13), as well as most Pac-12 Freshman of the Week awards (6).
