This Week in Utah Gymnastics
The No. 3 ranked Utah gymnasts (1-0, 0-0 Pac-12) will face Brigham Young (0-0) in the annual Deseret First Duel on Friday, Jan. 11 in Provo, Utah. The meet starts at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center and will be televised on BYUtv. Live Utah commentary and scores will be available on UtahUtes.com.

In the Rankings
The Utes are No. 3 in the latest Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) rankings. The rankings are based season average until February 25, when they will move to regional qualifying score. Utah was one of three teams to score a 197 or better in the opening week, behind only Oklahoma (198.050) and UCLA (197.250). The Utes are ranked No. 2 in the nation on three events—vault, bars and floor (tie)—and are No. 10 on beam.
MyKayla Skinner is tied for first in the nation on bars and floor, is No. 2 in the all-around and tied for No. 4 on vault.
MaKenna Merrell-Giles is No. 6 in the all-around, tied for No. 7 on vault and beam and is No. 8 on floor.
Cristal Isa's first college bar routine tied for the third best score in the country. See sidebar on page 2 for Utah's complete national rankings.

Utah is on the road for the next three weeks with meets at BYU (Jan. 11), Oregon State (Jan. 19) and Arizona State (Jan. 25). Winner Skinner
Two-time NCAA champion, two-time NCAA all-around runner-up and 18-time All-American
MyKayla Skinner is one of the winningest gymnasts in Utah history. Skinner holds the Utah record for all-around wins in a season (12 in 2017) and career (22, 2017-present). She ranks second in total season wins (43 in 2017) and is approaching the top five in career victories with 81. Skinner won NCAA titles on floor in 2017 and vault in 2018. The Pac-12 all-around champion as a freshman and sophomore, Skinner owns Pac-12 records for most Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week awards in a season (7) and a career (12), as well as most Pac-12 Freshman of the Week awards (6).
