THIS WEEK
Utah men's golf is back in action at the Oregon State Invitational. The team will compete in a two-day tournament hosted by Oregon State University with it taking place Oct. 14-15 at the Trysting Tree Club in Corvallis, Ore.
THE FIELD
Utah will compete among a field of 15 teams that includes Air Force, Arizona, Boise State, California Baptist, Cal State Fullerton, Gonzaga, Idaho, Oregon, Oregon State, Oregon State B, Pacific, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington State.
UTAH'S LINE-UP
The Utes will travel a five-man team that consists of seniors
Mitchell Schow and
Jordan Costello, juniors
Blake Tomlinson and
Tristan Mandur and, true freshman
Javier Barcos. The team will also travel senior
Peyton Hastings to compete as an individual on the course. All the Utes traveling have competed in tournament play for the team this year and will look to continue to build of a promising start to the season.
TOURNMENT DETAILS
The Oregon State Invitational is a two-day tournament with 36 holes being played the first day and 18 the second. Teams will tee off Monday at 9 a.m. in a shotgun start format. The results from the first day of play will determine the tee times for the third and final round on day two.
LAST TIME OUT
On Sept. 27-28 the team competed in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate where they finished in fifth place. Mandur led the Utes tying for ninth after shooting 2-under par (214) for the tournament. Costello finished tied for 19
th carding 2-over par for the tournament (218) while Tomlinson tied for 40
th shooting 7-over par (223). Schow also finished tied for 40
th shooting 7-over par (223) over the two days of tournament play.
