Monterey, Calif. - The Utah men's golf team has moved into a tie for 11
th through two rounds at the Saint Mary's Invitational, shooting 11-over par (579) for the tournament after shooting 7-over (291) on day two.
"We got off to a really poor start," head coach
Garrett Clegg said. "The negative is that we played one of our worst rounds of the year, but the positive is we played a solid back nine to bring it back a bit. Tomorrow is our final round of the fall. Hopefully we can finish the fall off on a high note."
Senior
Mitchell Schow continues to lead the Utes through two rounds of play after shooting even par (71) in the second round and 1-under for the tournament (141). He currently sits in a tie for 24
th overall.
Not far behind Schow is junior
Blake Tomlinson, who shot 1-over par (72) on the day. Tomlinson is tied for 29
th among the field and is shooting even par (142) through two rounds of play.
Junior
Tristan Mandur is tied for 39
th after shooting 1-over par (72) for the second day in a row and is 2-over (144) through 36 holes.
Colton Tanner, who is competing for the Utes as an individual in the invitational is tied for 47
th overall after shooting 3-over par in round two (74) and in the tournament (145) as a whole.
True freshman
Jesper von Reedtz carded 6-over par (77) on his second day on the course and 11-over for the tournament to place him in a tie for 82
nd with
Jordan Costello rounding out the Utes shooting 12-over through two rounds, including going 5-over par today (76) to finish in a tie for 87
th.
The Utes will return to action tomorrow when they compete in the third and final round of the Saint Mary's Invitational. Round three will begin between 7:30-9 a.m. PT with live scoring available on
