On Podium

The Utes will practice in The Family Center on Thursday before the quad meet on Friday. The GymQuarters Invitational is one of two podium opportunities for the Utes prior to the NCAA Championships. For the first time, the Pac-12 Championship will feature a podium surface at the Maverik Center in West Valley City on Mar. 23.
Â
GymQuarters Invitational Notes
Utah and LSU have met 36 times in their history, but just seven times during the regular season. Their results at the NCAA Championships have been similar in recent years, with both teams making the Super Six in three of the last four seasons with a high finish of second place (Utah in 2015, LSU in 2016 and 2017). Stanford has qualified for the NCAA Championships seven times, advancing to the Super Six each time. Missouri has made one appearance in the NCAA Championships (2010).
Â
The Streak
The Utes have reached the 197 benchmark in their first six meets, marking a first for the program. The six consecutive 197s is tied for the second most at any point of the season (also accomplished in 2018). The school record for most consecutive 197 scores is seven, set in 2014 and 2016. Utah teams have started a season with a 197 three previous times (2004, 2005, 2018), but had never put together back-to-back 197's to start a season prior to this year.
